I believe this to be a good price as the RRP is reported to be £549 and also you can get the dual SIM version which is an Amazon exclusive for the same price as single sim.

Seriously considering this as a replacement to my oneplus x, I like how Sony make a smaller version of the flagships and change very little on the specs. Not everyone want a massive screen on there phone heat

Thanx.
Dual sim would be damn useful, but my z5 compact is still going strong, and there's not enough compelling reasons for me to upgrade, especially as they've moved the fingerprint sensor from the power button to the back as well I liked it on the power button!

Good price for pre-orders though.

Only 2870 mAh battery.. shame

People who have no interest in the phone can finally stop moaning that the compact has 720p they put a 1080p in this one, though the removal of the headphone jack and fingerprint sensor on the back are negatives to me, they should have kept their unique feature!

Sony's battery tech is second to none, so that's not really a worry.

I have Xz1 with 2700 battery. Working whole day without issue. Surprisingly good battery management. I think its manly due to lack of crapware. Sony also release security patches every month.
I'm split between these phones, so hoping the xz1 compact will drop in price over the next month. Then go with that

This is the only new phone I am interested in for that exact reason! I don't like how big most phones are these days! Still very happy with my Samsung Galaxy S4 (which when I first got took me a very long time getting used to the size of it)
I wouldn't want anything bigger. Don't know if I could live without removable battery though
It's no longer really that compact. Everyone has gone upwards of 5 inch screen phones so now apparently 'just' 5 inch screens are compact. 5 years ago a 5 inch screen was a small phablet. Z5 compact was 127 x 65 x 9mm 138g. This is 135 x 65 x 12 168g. Considerably fatter and heavier.

Everything is relative I guess, but even the reliably small phones are growing.....

^ This. I am hoping someone will make a 5 inch screen phone with hardly any bezels

You get use to a non removable battery easily, It either this or the xz1 compact for me. Especially if its price comes down now this has been released.
As mentioned it would be good if a manufacturer made a bezelless phone in a 5 inch size chassis and you could get best of both world manageable size and a bigger screen. Only one that might be a possibility with I think is xiaomi with the mi7 as they have not yet fallen into there flagship being as big as others
I like to see the xz2 compact reviews first but i have already have it as a potential replacement for iphone 7 , i dont really like the rumours that i have heard for the new iphones 2018 .

The xz1 compact is a chunky beast heaven knows how this will feel other than the price it's going to crash then there's Sony the bloat on them is ridiculous & bug's they still haven't fixed the broken smartlock on the xz1

Have you had a xz1 compact?
At this size and price the only competition is the Pixel 2. Pixel obviously has the better overall camera bar the super slow mo and better UI and updates. Sony has smaller footprint, bigger battery , dual SIM and SD slot.
Had a Z5C for 2 years, still was going strong. Just remember to backup your DRM keys if you root else you will lose functionality or have to make do with workarounds without being able to ever fully return your phone to stock.

Same here , waiting XZ1 to drop!
Gutted the xz2 is showing at £699 though. At £599, i think Sony may have had a winner.
