May have go get this. Currently looking for a new contract. Is mobile shop decent company though?

For the extra 50p, the extra data allowance on the T-mobile deal could be handy on a phone like this.

anyone know is this phone likely to be unlocked?

I had this phone but sold it, battery takes an age to charge and the small rubber flaps you have to pull out every time are bound to come off sooner or later. Went back to iPhone

its a slab, but i love it to bits! Wish Sony bought this out earlier!

Best phone out, if u dont like the flaps get a dock and bluetooth easy

Brilliant phone

While I won't be buying one (recently got a new phone on contract) I hope it does well purely to encourage other manufacturers to consider waterproofing their devices.

Size next to s3 if it helps anyone

No chance of getting an S4 at this price is there? First contract phone for myself soon...

Bought an Xperia Z outright yesterday after moving on from my S3. Hope it's worth it!

How much is this sim free

Thinking of selling iPhone 4 and getting this

^ Google it? And what's the tariff then?

Battery takes an age to charge? What!? It charges 2-3 times as fast compared with my S2. No way is the charging slow.

I took out a redemption deal with Mobiles.co.uk last year for my 15 year old daughter. The contract is the Panther £20.50 (24 month) one. If I phone up to get the extra bits above added on, will the name of the plan change from Panther £20.50 (24 month)? Only asking, as if it does, I'm not too sure if Mobiles.co.uk would pay up the remaining redemption payments due back from them - does anybody know about this? Thank you.

Guys, I'm currently coming to the end of a contract with orange in the next couple of months, on these mobile sites do I have to select 'upgrade' or can I start a new one and keep my old number? I'm sick of seeing these upgrade prices being so much higher than the others, I dont want to have a new number.

Phone contracts are such a ball ache, I dread it when they come around. Orange are the most horrendous company ever when it comes to 'loyality upgrades'. Laughable

Sony phones are nice to look at. But they are terrible at Android updates and the software Sony lays on top is often buggy and laggy. Last year's flagship the Xperia S is still on Ice Cream Sandwich and hasn't had an update in 10 months. Jelly Bean 4.1.2 is coming in the next month or two (at last!), but that's not even the latest version. Samsung does a much better job of supporting their flagship devices with Android updates.

I'm the biggest Sony fanboy on here but even I find it hard to recommend their phones.

Clearly your knowledge of mobile phones is extensive, its HTC not xtc.

I have the Xperia Z and a Samsung Galaxy S3. Both are excellent, but the Stamina mode on the Xperia and the superb camera gives it the edge for me.

Excellent phone. Along with the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, this is one of the best phones you can buy at the moment. I went for the HTC myself but I doubt I would be any less happy with the Xperia Z if I had chosen that.

great phone. just changed from iphone and I prefer the Z. Far better battery life, switch off all the crap too and it lasts 3 days, and I use it a fair bit. great pictures and easier to type with than most other phones. It is a big phone though, i'd test on in a shop first if your not sure

Great phone but sold it for an HTC One.
Just found it a bit too unwieldy and the tabs were a pain in the end.

My god, do we have a new breed? You managed to write that without a hint of fanboyism. You sir, are the revolution!

I like this phone, but the silver button on the side would put me of slightly. I'm not in the market for a new phone ad I have the Nexus 4, but there are some absolutely unreal handsets out there at the minute! Which means even better deals for everyone!

Voted hot.

Great deal and voted hot. Am I right in thinking though that the display is a little lacking with this phone? Checked it out in store and it seemed 'dull' in comparison to others such as note 2, S3 htc one...

Tbh i had most phones and the screen is fine... there really is nothing wrong with it there was one review saying it was bad then everyone said it was bad... truly its fine

yeah just seemed almost like a mat finish in the shop - maybe works well with moving images but in the shop it looked ****. I know it's got an outstanding resolution, maybe it's just in contrast with Samsung's vivid and slightly saturated screens...

there is an app on xda that can change all that but i never had to use it.

Mine charges pretty quickly, the flaps may or may not come off, but I've had mine since launch and still intact. Also, any need to say you went back to iPhone?

Since we are giving out life stories, I had a HTC Hero, once contract was up, I got an iPhone 3G, it was an awful phone and in my opinion, iOS is awful, so I sold the iPhone 3G..... went back to Android.

I know what you mean about the battery life and speaker, but I do find it alright to hold. I've been forced to take out my portable battery with me whenever I know I won't be able to charge it. I'm waiting for the next update or even 4.2 or 4.3 if they skip 4.2 to see if they help any with the battery, otherwise, I am tempted to go with the S4 or HTC One.
