Still better then the upcoming iPhone 5s

This model has now been replaced by z1 or something? Even though I have an Xperia s I love Sony phones I think the latest Samsung is better.

Good deal for a relatively new to market phone, but I'm waiting for the z1, faster processor, better screen and better camera.yeat added for price tho.

This phone is a waste of time. I am on my third now. Battery life is appalling, fine if you just want to look at it, forget using it for any period of time.

When I powered the first one on, I literally sat and watched the battery percentage dropping 1% every few minutes whilst just flicking through the home screens. The current one isn't as bad but rarely lasts a full day if you need to make a few calls.

the z1 i believe has a 3000mah battery which is a lot larger than a lot of phones, so id save your money and buy maybe a g2 which is around this price.

It must be fine to be able to release a device that's not fit for purpose, charge exorbitant money for it, then a few months later, slash the price and release a 2nd gen edition that might be a little bit better.

I came from an S3 and whilst it felt very plasticy, its was a legend as phones go. Im sure it was actually bulletproof! If Samsung produced a phone that felt as well built as the Z it would be the best phone in the world

I own this phone and have had no problems. Defiantly the best phone I have ever owned. The S4 just looked to cheap to consider. Z1 is just about to come out and as long as the battery life is good, it will be the best phone.

Well we can only speak from our own experiences, like I said this is my third. Each time the batter life has got a little better but it is still very poor, my S3 would last 2 days no bother, im having to charge the Z during the day as well as overnight.

I literally took it off the charger with a full charge at 7:15am, I have sent 5 texts since then and right now it is sat at 87% As an added pain in the ass, unlike any of my previous phones it will not charge from the usb port on my computer, its not happy with 500mA just to get you out of trouble.

Yes, the S line does feel cheap in the hand and Samsung could learn a lot from the feel of the Z but I'll be back to samsung asap.

while i agree, there customer service even for their executive office is appalling, and they dont like admitting or fixing rare problems that affect the fundamental operation of the phone.

Mine charges from a laptop usb no problem. I would guess that a power hungry application perhaps running in the background was causing this.

I do have one gripe about this phone and that Is the baked on Sony screen protector. You can take it off but at the cost of looking the Sony logo. It's just crazy.

Is that a high power port though designed for charging etc?

Screen protect doesnt worry me but yeah a bit odd why they opted to put their logo on the protector and not on the device.

@bouncy99 - I doubt there are many manufacturers in the world that will admit to any fault unless they are left with no choice.

I once purchased an E46 BMW M3, then there were horror stories about them blowing up left right and center. BMW said it was the drivers fault, that the driver had over revved or mis-shifted on a gear change causing undue stress on engine internals and a good few people were left to foot the bill for engine rebuilds.

When they then released their SMG version and they started going pop they literally had no choice but to accept it was a manufacturing issue as you can't mis-shift or overrev an SMG car, turned out to be bad shells and cost BMW huge huge monies recalling and fixing. They are all just as dirty as each other.

Now add to that the Porsche 911 (996) intermediate shaft issue, porsche never ever admitted the problem, at >12k for a porsche engine rebuild, why would they? It was left to aftermarket companies to develop a better bearing. German engineering at its best?
