+1 - love this - my hudl is now given to my wife after I got this.

cheaper at eGlobal Central (£198) not sure about their service though. Anyone used them before?

Cold as the cost of a flatbed truck to carry it around will take the cost to £50,000 X) joke btw

Great deal. The only thing that puts me off it's the camera.

Why don't you go for it mate and report back to us how it goes

In terms of speed would this be similar to z3 tablet compact? Considering the z3, which i think is snapdragon 801, but I prefer the size of this. Would the extra gig of ram make a big difference

it'll definitely make a difference in terms of multitasking as it means more apps will stay in the background for longer. Also be aware the speaker on the Z Ultra is crap, as is the camera. It also doesn't have the same quality of display as the Z3 - though it is still nice - so it won't just be a big alternative to the Z3.

Speaker is fine for me been using it for a while now.I've had all the phones over the last few years and considering the Note 4 is over twice the price of this, this probably gives you the most bang for your buck at the moment.

Shocking good or bad??

£192 on eGlobalCentral with code: shop599

Shocking bad.

Battery life is on par with my girlfriends moto g 4g, nothing spectacular. Not as good as the HTC One Max, Lucia 1520 or LG G Flex I've had with around the same size screen, but it lasts me a full day without needing to recharge. I would say it's average but not as bad as the reviews say, maybe kitkat improved it.

It's not a bad phone. I had one and recently sold it.

I had one of these, great phone but unfortunately I cracked the screen :-(
Gone back to my note 2 which seems so small and slow now.

Send them a message asking will it be on DOTD again soon & look out for a 10% discount code in your inbox. ;-) No promises, but they do them quite often.

This is a good phone, worth the regular price around 240 if you need the largest possible display. Technically not as sharp as some Samsungs but makes little difference in normal use, for most videos I find the Sony technology more pleasant. Technically OnePlusOne, etc. has faster processor and more memory but for most applications there will be little difference.

I purchased this phone from Expansys. I can not recommend them. They supplied the ordered goods but their customer service have been completely unresponsive. I contacted them on 3 occasions and received no response:
1) pre-sales, a simple question to confirm exact model and accessories (they sell mostly imports with varying adapter/dock options)
2) post sales, Parcelfarce claimed to have made a delivery attempt (24/7 facility with security camera, so that's a lie). Not Expansys's fault, but I wanted to let them know I was not happy.
3) post sales, politely requested credit on the difference as they reduced the price 2 days after my purchase (day I received). Amazon, JL, etc. would have done it.

I could have ordered another at the deal price and sent back the first (14 day legal return right) but to be honest I don't have confidence in their returns process.

They seem no different from a Pixmania, mostly grey imports (intended for German/French market) slightly more expensive than ordering directly from a German/French vendor and slightly more convenient due to UK based stock. One difference from Pixmania, they include a UK charger. If you don't need customer service, then all works fine.

If I were doing this all over again, I would purchase from Amazon DE and deal with Amazon customer service.

faxmax

, they include a UK charger

A phone they sold me came with a continental 2 pin charger and wall adapter that did not fit properly.

Also on eBay deal of the week at £220, but I think the seller gets a bad name on here...

Ordered one a couple of weeks ago, came with a separate UK charger, not an adapter.

They included an LG charger with UK mains to be honest looks like a fake but working fine. They left the Sony charger with Euro style 2 pin connector in the box. I use the Sony with a UK adapter because it charger faster and is the real deal but it hisses already! Never had a charger hiss before at least a few months.

My phone's box was not sealed. No cellophane and also no labels or stickers so the lid could just be lifted. Was I the only one? Don't reckon they would come like this from Sony. Phone looked totally new but I'm suspicious it might be a refurb. Are Expansys dodgy like that?

I don't think would be a refurb. I imagine the issues with the charger are voltage related, and that it was opened to change the firmware perhaps.

Well, everything looked brand new but the box was not sealed hence my suspicion. I thought at first they maybe opened the box to add or remove something but doesn't look like it. Firmware is latest as is Android (4.4.4, Lollipop not yet available) so maybe as you suggest they opened it to update. But why? Seems unnecessary, users can do this.

Can somebody who bought from Expansys confirm if/how your box was sealed?
Can somebody who bought from somewhere other than Expansys confirm if/how your box was sealed?

What do you mean voltage related? Both (and practically all phone chargers) can handle 100/240V? Does the Euro 240V or UK 13A contribute to the hissing?

Mine was not sealed (Expansys) and there was no protector on the phone it was updated to 4.4.4 kitkat but looked new, I sold it, but now thinking to buy another,
Its a great phone err... tablet, amazing as a satnav, and watching films, fantastic screen, super fast, unbelievably thin, with the screen at the front and a glass back I cant see where there would be any room for the electronics! inside, speaker a bit tinny camera terrible in low light, oh and it has a plastic "anti shatter" film bonded on both back and front glass, it can scratch easily so get a screen protector on them on day one, can be awkward to hold to your head for a long call its worth getting a Bluetooth earpiece.
If I had a charger that made any noise other than a gentle hum I wouldn't use it,
