That's a very good question, personally I really like the Sony smartphones (excellent battery life) but this does come in smaller than the LG G4.

A very fair question and a difficult one to answer, on price alone then the answer would of course be no.

Maybe if this was the Z5 Premium

For that price? Dream on.

Not for a phone, they've all plateaued so aside from a slightly better camera there's nothing this can do that my Z2 doesn't already do, or any other mid-range phone for that matter, so No good sir I'm not gonna loose sleep over generic phones instead I'm spending my dreams VR headsets and expensive graphics cards.

I didn't realise that the Z2 had a fingerprint scanner?

Isn't the point of this site to find the cheapest price for an item?

Not review whether a different phone is better?

for the sake of clarity ive not voted either way.. but find it hard to vote hot when the g4 is £200 cheaper.. i may be a bit ignorant but am unaware of any features of this phone that make it worth the extra - please enlighten me if you know of any.

also just because its a good price for that phone it doesnt mean its a competitive price for the market. it just means its an overpriced phone

Just because one other comparable phone is cheaper doesn't mean that it sets the benchmark for all other flagship phones. It more than likely means they've got to flog it off cheap to get rid of them.

au contraire the more units they sell the lower they can sell them at to reach their break even and profit.

e.g. if their break even was £100 and they knew they would only sell 50 units they would need to sell them at £2 each.. but if they knew they would sell 100 units they could sell them at £1. its about supply and demand and getting your product out there.

im sure if you could find figures for unit sales of each handset for 2015 you would see what i mean

'getting rid of them' as you say yes i agree if its a bad product thats the only way sometimes to shift it. but i dont believe the g4 is

btw, i think its a good quality of hukd, then when a 'good' deal is presented the community come together and discuss the merits of the good deal and/or other alternatives.. 1 good deal may lead to another etc or may even lead to someone making a more informed buying decision either with that deal or product or not.

thats my take anywhooo

Thanks for your explanation of business economics... So based on your 'theory' can we assume that Samsung and Apple have not sold enough handsets to reach their 'breakeven' or even 'profit' point?

I can assure you that companies think a lot bigger than that and will get every single penny out of their customers that they can. To think they reduce the price as they've already hit their target is pretty simple minded really.

In fairness, the comparisons made are to another phone. Had they been to a tablet, a laptop or a sack of spuds, I'd back you all the way. It's good to read about alternatives so long as the thread doesn't stray away from the original topic!
It's not about getting heat for price alone, but overall value. And spitting dummies across the proverbial room often attracts cold votes which means many genuine readers may overlook the post and miss a decent deal.
Cheer up... It's nearly New Years Eve!

Fully agree, but generally one would point out it's a different phone. Due to the phones being in the same 'family' I think the poster assumed it was the same.

I'm not really bothered if people down vote because of the tone of conversation - if someone was looking for a Z5 at the time it was the best price and that's what I thought this site was about...
