No idea, Coral colour only was 500+ Degrees a few days ago hotukdeals.com/dea…314
I don't know why this is cold! it's the best price for this headset!
No idea why people are voting this cold!? If I had the ££ I'd be all over this
Do you know if you get the free bluetooth headset if you buy the phone sim only, or is that only if you buy on contract?

Must be a glitch on the HotUKDeal site; I added heat and it increased cold...
added heat but went colder wtf? sort it out.
Great price but I need a deal on the regular Z5, sim free? Anyone (_;)

I added cold and it went hot!
I've voted hot (it went up and then down when I refreshed the page...) but I think the cold votes could be because with Tesco they have in branch stores and also that you could have price matched the Coral with John Lewis for a two year warranty.

Probably being votes cold because new handsets have been launched this week and people generally want more phone for less money. This phone was priced the same a few weeks ago, with same seller and it got more heat.

1. Gift is free supplied to those who have purchased a Sony Xperia Z5 or Sony Xperia Z5 Compact on contract only.

that may be your own opinion, but it certainly isnt representative of everyone elses. Sony phones are rated very highly for build quality. Customer service is down to personal experience, I've sent my Z2 in for repair under warranty and I got it back fixed no hassle.

Hi, are you sure the price match of JL would work for mobilephonedirect?

Sony seem to replace phones and ps3s but neglect their TV/Large electrical and software section. They are based in egypt despite being Sony UK and are the rudest and unhelpful. I said I wouldn't buy Sony again a few years back and then I did and had another bad experience. This time never again .. again. Despite them having really good phones and laptops. Customer service goes a long way and they just don't want to know.
The Tesco Coral deal is an odd one, still showing as 299, when you click on it it shows £349, but suggests the same phone (same colour, etc) for £299...

Your click on that and it comes up as £349, and suggests the same phone for £299...

I spent 2.5 hours doing this,, quite hypnotic.

Played with this a bit in store and it seriously felt like a £50 phone based on build quality and materials for the case.. shame because the size/battery/camera/other specs are great.

No I don't think it would work. I was commenting when it was voted cold and why it might have been voted cold at the time - due to a recent deal (not this one but with Tesco) which meant that you could price match with JL which is what I wanted to do but I hate the Coral colour!

Not following you, that news doesn't mean this phone is obsolete, it just means they aren't going to name their phones Xperia Z something. It uses the Snapdragon 810 chipset, even if Sony announce on Monday that's it there's no more operating system updates for it, the Snapdragon 810 is 'easy' enough to make custom ROMs for it. If you want this phone and it has the specs you want for the right price then get it.

seems a bit dear to me.what i dont get is why the battery life isnt as good as the z3 compact.the batterys bigger and it uses a more advanced chip with octa cores hmmm.

Why would you need to call Sony customer support, unless you bought it directly from them?
Just bought one for the wife from o2 for £312 with free £90 photobox bundle.
'Cracking' deal!
Part of the motivation for buying this phone was the rumours that Sony were getting out of the smartphone market. Because if not this, what small powerful phone is there. I remember my heady fascination for smartphones in the early days now all I want is something that small tough and fast. I am very happy with mine.
My boss has bought one and his only complaint is he sluggishness of the phone. It took a few seconds to take a photo in a lit room just to show me how bad it was.
Tempted at getting this...

But will add in that i question the build qiailty, however i have the m4 aqua for 6 months now and the rear camera cant be used due to a crack in the lense.

Not sure to hold out for the new x series??
I've had one a few weeks now from when it was previously on offer. no real complaints from me, arguably one of the best small smartphones on the market. it's a slight shame that the display is only 720p but the pros far outweigh that con
Compared this to my z3 compact, and agree, it does feel cheap. Though both feel a lot cheaper to my new Oneplus X, which £100 cheaper. Re. Sony warranty, when i registered my z3, it said it has 2 year warranty.
got the z3 compact, amazing phone, well build, fast and smooth, love Android not to rip off iPhone

Thanks for that, i was led to believe it might be a concern for the future of this model. I'm purchasing for daughter who's finally agreed to leave Apple - perhaps the Apple experience affects you like that (_;)

Apple products have the best update scheme bar none, this is because there's only one version of the operating system on the device, they control the hardware and software. Android is a total mess in terms of updates. People will accuse me of being an Apple fanboy now, I just speak the truth and my phone is a Galaxy S6 which uses Android and still hasn't been update to Marshmallow yet.

As an android fan, I agree. Fragmentation afross manufacturers is definitely an issue, unless you're using a Nexus device that is.

I think it is on its way for the s6. Motorola are much quicker in this regard, have had M for several weeks now and even longer in other territories

It's already on Vodafone in the UK. (UK) BTU will be coming very soon, I doubt I can wait for EE to release their version.

JL will not match this price fyi
Really good phone and the camera is amazing. Get a metal phone case for this from eBay because if you drop it - it's history. Definitely not built to last.
I have just bought the new Sony Xperia M5, which is currently only available on contract through Carphonewarehouse or mobiles.co.uk and offers a 1080p 5" screen and 3GB of RAM instead of 720p and 2GB on the Z5 compact. It's cheaper than the Z5 compact on a contract too but still has an IP68 water and dust resistance, micro SD slot (up to 200GB), 21.5megapixel exmoor rear camera and 13megapixel front facing camera. It also does 4k. It uses a Mediatek Helio X10 chip, rather than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 in the Z5 compact. The only slight negatives are that it's a plastic chassis and doesn't have a fingerprint reader. Quite glad I didn't get the Z5 compact.
Great price, heated up
