Same price at Merry Hill store. Brother rang me today to see if it was cheap.

Will VAT back work on purchase of this TV?

Great deal, but I'm not sure if they come with glasses.

Only if you have a time machine.

It does not come with glasses or transmitter

Is it bettet than nx713? Wich is the same price?

Very Similar - The 713 is a better looking telly IMO which is like a glass panel on the front making it seemless.
You would be hard pressed to spot the difference in picture quality.

I prefer the picture on the HX803 plus it's 200hz rather than 100hz but the NX713 has a lovely design. Both really good prices though.

this is hot !!!

I prefer the 903 from M&S but that £400 more, although that comes with 2 pairs of glasses and the 3D is all built in.

Original Poster

I don't like the black levels on the 903, they come out as greyish blue.

cracking price!! I would be all over this deal..if it included the 3d transmitter and glasses. I'd prefer this to the nx713 as it's 200hz.
The nx713 is 100hz but is the much better looking frameless glass/monolith design.

I'm planning on getting some glasses at a later date when there is more 3d content and maybe a price drop on the glasses. the 3d it just a bonus for me this tv is awesome in 2d!

why is there such a difference between 40-46" models ?! 46" is £1499:((

price back up to £998.99

You wouldnt use 200mhz though, it makes films look like eastenders.

i posted an updated link but here it is again sony.co.uk/pro…803

Good price but bare in mind that this does not include the 3D pack.

That retails at £500 bumping up the cost to £1200

Which is what it was just before Xmas

If you are just after the TV then its a cracking deal.

I would think that this set and the 3D pack will appear as a deal sometime soon for less than £1200

£998.98

Selet the high wycombe store to get £799

why is it that you search for the same product at your local sony centre and the prices are extortionate!!!

Also can set bluewater as sony store to get this price.
Just bought the nx17 at Comet for £899 with 3d transmitter (normally £50) and £27 quidco so only £23 more.

Sony Centres are franchised so differet branches have different prices. but you can order from any store not just your local one. thats why i said to select high wycombe or search hp13 to find that branch.

manchester has it this price also!!!

M&S Now: £899.00 Special Offer
Free 5 year guarantee and free delivery and installation with this product

Need to edit original post to say this doesn't include the 3D transmitter or glasses. With both, the price shoots up by £250. =/

Much bette b,coz this one has HD free view!!!!

this isnt that good a deal- before xmas i bought the 40nx713 for £1,200 with the 3d pack ( ps3 160gb, gran turismo 5, 2x 3d glasses and the transmitter) plus a five yr warranty then i could also claim my vat back taking the price down to just over a £1,000. i would really recommend the tv though from sony centre merry hill

guess you didn't see this then, print off the front page of the prc website take into your local john lewis for the price match and then add the transmitter and 1 pair of 3d glasss for less than what you paid at comet.

I'm very tempted to do just that but have several hunder quid to spend on my car coming up in the next 3 months, £500+ on car insurance(as I'm unemployed, would be £100 cheaper if I had a job) in january then service+mot in febuary/march. don't have a job so can't afford to get the tv as well

I am just not into 3D tv, it's so tiring watching a movie, also how often you really use the 3D function. I think it's all bit of novelty, also not including 3D glasses and transmitter, just pure rip off, £99 for a pair of glasses on sony website, I have four in the family, and that's almost £400 gone. Also I think the sony brand is getting worse, used to love sony but nowadays you can buy a better product for a lot less from LG, Samsung, even Sharp.

Anyway, it's a good tv with a reasonable price but a very expensive option if you want 3D.

I honestly think that the sony tv's have the best picture out there at the moment but if anyone here is unsure then don't listen to me or anyone else on here. go into a store and see for yourself. always trust your own eyes. not the salesperson's although they can give you pointers in what to look for. also any high end tv out there now will have 3d capability that doesn't mean you have to use it. this tv is alot cheaper than last years sony 200hz without the 3d so i think these are great value.

Don't know much about 3D TVs. Need a TV so thinking of buying this set and waiting a year or two for 3D tramsmitters and glasses to drop in price.

Would I have to buy Sony branded or would any transmitter and glasses work?

I'd personally stay away from 200mhz 3d TV's at this price. I had the LG mentioned above and returned it for the Panasonic 42" GT20b. Plasma and 600hz. The LED/LCD 3DTV's around the £1000 mark suffer from too much crosstalk (ghosting).

If your spending around £1000 on a 3dtv it HAS to be a plasma. LED/LCD can't refresh quick enough so your left eye see's a ghost of the right eyes image. Some content (Avatar for example) will still look good, but other content can look awful!

Hope this helps

I phoned PRC, they wouldn't let me reserve one, wouldn't tell me how many in stock, in short very unhelpful. I think PRC are using it to get customers in thru the door, then will say just sold last one and then offer you another more expensive/less good tv.
JL will only price match if local and confirmed stock which PRC won't do.

Display on my sony nx17 (some places £800) seems fine, can't see any ghosting. If it was that bad everyone would take back and nobody would make/sell them.

Pay a bit more and get polarised glasses compatible 3D TV. Though personally I would wait until things are standardised properly.
