I didn't realise people still bought these. I remember owning a Sound Blaster Live back in the late 90's.

This post brings back fond memories.

Remember the wave where you loaded sounds onto the card and could do stuff via midi to play them and the inbuilt instruments?

That was so cool, trying to show my friends why my Audio Card was worth the same as their Graphics Card!

LOL, most just told me they could not tell the difference, which was probably due to the crappy speakers I had back then.
I’ve never had a creative product but these guys are brill. I have no idea what this is.
Is it worth upgrading from my Vibra 16 to this ?
For anyone asking if this is better than X card, then yes. This is currently the best soundcard out there.

No! Vibra was legendary.

No analogue joystick on this either. I'm sticking with the vibra
Just checked the creative website and the card supports Eax 5.0 but not DSD? This is a massive ball drop from creative, they need to spend less time on RGB lighting and more on basic features that the chipset should support out of the box.

Final Fantasy VII came with 2 and 4MB soundfonts (IIRC), I made good use of them for MIDI creation. I even installed extra RAM chips on my AWE32 to fit the larger sound files.
What makes this so good? Does it decode Atmos and X?
My creative sound blaster x-fi hd. I need to install the driver every time I turn off the pc or it sounds like crap. So frustrating. I've been looking for an upgrade but am skeptical of these guys working with windows 10

I think there was yahama XG software on there as well. Awe32 and 64 were good cards, after the sound blaster live 256 they got flakey and the quality dropped a lot. Huge difference between xfi and the xfi elite quality wise.

I own the card already. Runs perfectly on win 10. No issue. New software is very lightweight. Zero bloat with the card. Sound quality is amazing.

Like fart down a microphone and play it back on the keyboard
I had GUS... Oh the fun of squeezing all available memory in DOS to run games like Ultima VII.

Yep same. Crazy at the time. Me and my mate wrote some songs etc and was going down the electronic production. We were probably delusional thinking we would make it big
GRAVIS ULTRASOUND back in 90s... B*TCH PLEASE:DDDDD
Thank you OP!
Just ordered this, I've been looking for a Soundcard for a while!
Anyone knows of a long extension and jack splitter?
I have Cloud II headset for gaming and I'm afraid the cable is too short because it is meant to connect to the usb soundcard. (About 50cm).
Btw some reviews say this edition brings 4 rgb strips. Can anyone confirm that?

This one only comes with 1 RGB strip. The pure edition comes with 4.

That is right!
Funny the Pure Edition is also at 129£ but does not allow the facebook code to be used at the same time.
Wonder which one is a bug...
I was going to cancel my order and reorder with the pure edition... wonder if support can do something about it.

Creative confirmed on facebook that there will be a high end version of this card, similar to the ZXR. Just a heads up incase you decide on that card later. That being said the AE-5 is brilliant. Best sound card I've ever owned. Sound quality is unmatched. You won't be disappointed.

The price you are seeing for the Pure edition already has this code applied I believe. Add it to a basket and you should see the code being applied.

Thank you for the heads up.
But this card is already a bit of a overkill for me, only really upgrading from my X99 prime onboard because I'm sometimes having static artefacts in the audio.
I'm sure it'll be a great card but it'll also bring a bigger pricetag.
The Pure shows a discount just like the "black" version but unlike this last one once you put the facebook code in the price reverts to the 150£...
Could not sleep.... ordered something I don't necessarily need.... AND got a free white SB inferno headset,. Oh what will I do with the freebie...
IMO I do notice a marked difference in sound quality of onboard (average priced MB) sound and dedicated cards!!! Sleep!
