Sound is a bit (very!) tinny. This Gear4 product might be better value. £5 at Tesco +P&P

OR for £9.99 this Gear4 product has very good bass for its size; BUT needs USB power (no battery)

Have just invested in one of these. Reviews look crazy good.

I'm after something like this to take on holiday to use with my ipod but the shape of this might mean a run in with airport security. Wouldn't want the plane/airport evacuated lol. Imagine the embarassment :whistling: Good price though.

go for x-mini. totally recommended!!

I was going to post this deal last week when Play had classed it as a "Hot Pick" but there was only one review and they had panned the speaker.

What is the sound like?

Last month someone posted this speaker but it has since been reduced to £3.74 delivered amazon.co.uk/gp/…-21

The only small speaker here that generates half decent sound is the Gear4 Black Box Micro (posted above). But it doesn't support batteries.

they are giving out Play codes at Macdonalds at present, we have two for money off at Play. Think one is £1 off if you spend £8 and £2 off if you spend £10, something like that .... we bought the Big Mac meals.

Both sellers have very poor ratings, Play aren't actually selling it.

Only if Wile E. Coyote is on the plane too :prop:

Another vote here for the X-mini whateveritscalled.

I got mine a few weeks ago (from Amazon) and I'm totally blown away by the volume, sound quality and battery life.

So, what we've learned from this thread is that the more money you pay, the better product you will get.

Who would have known...

To be fair, I'm much more impressed by the £13 X-Mini 2 than the £30 speakers they replaced, or the £40 iPod dock I was going to buy instead.
