If its sound insulation can I wrap my Mrs up to shut her moaning.?
Used this underlay recently when I laminated the whole house. It's great stuff. Does sounds reduction, moisture barrier and overall underlay.

PS. Foil side goes face down... Most people get this wrong. You also need Barrier X tape too for overlapping

Hi, Best I've found is either 5mm XPS boards (good if upstairs) or Timbertech, you can get it in 3mm silver or 5mm gold, fantastic sound reduction with DPM

Seriously? Surely no one would think to put this down with the foil on top? The sticky bits wouldn't even allow this. Maybe 1 in a hundred

I did . Still quite surprised its wrong I assumed the overlapping gold had to be on top to be taped. I'm not actually sure how you'd tape correctly the other way up.

Or just double up on your Y-fronts.
I used this as underlay for my whole house. It’s *very* good stuff. Foil side down, start the new layer on top of the loose foil. Barrier X tape. Job done.
Is this the stuff NASA used when they pretended to go to the Moon?
would it be suitable for click lvt?
Suitable for solid oak flooring?

Same stuff they used on the Space Shuttle.
If one is in a conversion flat and there is rickety creaking floorboards, can this still be used?

Won't stop the creaking... but easy enough to screw down the boards or replace split ones before you start.

yes, but they gave the surplus to the London marathon
Can anyone tell me if you can put normal underlay on top of this? As the underlay I wanted to put was cloud 9 which is 11 mm. So would need to put something 6mm on top of this one?
erm guyz.......

You can pritty much buy the equivalent quality for £37 but get 3 times more (30sqm)?

I wouldn't do that, 6mm is enough, more would make the boards go all bendy and create weak points. The normal carpet underlay is very spongy.
You could double up on this laminate flooring though and get 10/12mm thickness.

Sorry dude who would have thought if you bought more it would be cheaper per m²!

For 30/m² it's £36.50 on eBay so 49p cheaper!

I accept your apology.

Hi there, is that a typical price on eBay?
Is this suitable for carpet or just wooden/laminate flooring?

I wouldn’t bother. She’s faking, only moans when you’re at work. It’s all the talk of the sorting office.

Doubt it, but i'm sure you could make a suitable hat from it 😘

Who's Dobly, anything to Dobby?
A famous scene from Spnal Tap! You’re have to be a certain age (to remembered Dolby and the film...)
11mm fine for carpet but I wouldn’t go too thick for laminate/wood. It’ll be too spongy.
