I was a bit meh when I got these almost a year ago. But paired up to a headphone amp or a device that has a bit of grunt, these sound impressive.
Just the question of can you live with them in Blue as Red is out of stock.

If these E50C's don't float your boat, try taking a look at hifiheadphones.co.uk/hea…tml who are currently running a sale on quite a few different headphones. They are SoundMagic's official UK reseller.

Yup, was just about to post - Gunmetal are just a few pennies more, delivered.

Heat added for bringing the excellent price to attention, though I've ordered the gunmetal from HFH instead

I recently bought the KZ ZS10 Pro for under £30 on eBay. Very impressed with the sound quality. The only worry is the cable looks a bit fragile. Delivery was in 10 days from China.
Bought some a while a go from Amazon.. having read reviews on what hifi.. I was naffed at the sound quality when received.. am wondering if they weren't realistic fakes from China??
are these worth upgrading from the E10C's - i notice the volume control doesn't work on my new cheapo android phone but it worked on my iphone. minor niggle but as the new phone is primarily as a music player it would be handy if the remote worked. not an android expert, just getting used to it but couldn't find any settings and the music app mentioned something about android not always sending the signal to the app to work

E10 is all about bass.
E50 claims to be more about sound neutrality (uses Japanese Oxygen Free Copper wiring).
E80 apparently best of both E10 & E50 (Japanese OFC wiring).
E11 - a more refined version of the E10 (I think uses silver plated wiring to offer a lift to the treble).

In the end I went with the E50C.
Crisp, detailed mids, you can hear the various layers in the mix, and bass isn't boomy, there's enough, but not for bass aficionados.
Mellowed out at the treble extremities once they've been run in.

What are you going to be plugging these into? These headphones are slightly higher impedance than your average high street earphones.
My E50's sound ok on my OnePlus using Blackplayer media player using the EQ, bass boost and a little tweaking of the amplifier level.
Now all set to default since I got a portable amp to drive the E50C which now sound even better with.

Re the question on volume control/remote control, I seem to recall that their rethink of the electronics on the C version, should allow the headphones to detect your phone. Previously they had an A/B switch on the cable to make the remote work. Hifiheadphones website has a web-chat where you could ask the question.

I had a pair of OnePlus Bullets V2 (which I thought had good midrange), OnePlus Bullets Wireless, Sennheiser’s CX300S & CX400's - the E50C's outperform all of them with a much more refined approach to music.

If you want dollops of bass, then maybe a pair of SoundMagic's E10 or E11 might be for you.

thanks for the info. i prefer a neutral sound, not a fan of booming bass. i want to use with my android and iphone mainly. i didn't think the E10 was that bassy, but it all depended on the tips and how far in your ear you had them. i used cheap comply copies (better than the supplied tips) with the E10's and been using them a while after getting them in a deal, so was thinking an upgrade might solve the issue, plus better sound and i have the old E10's as a spare/backup. i had CX400's at one point, and had some sony IEM's after that but they got damaged and i tried the E10's

thing is, if the remote isn't going to work, i may as well get the model without it, but as it's only £7.50 difference it's sometimes worth getting just in case
