A large saucepan and a stick blender works just as well.
Commonly known as a blender.

Commonly known as a blender.

but with a heater
I used to agree with the above - a pan and stick blender suffice. And that's why I didn't buy this last year. I mean...do I really need it?

Then I saw all the *fab* reviews and the fact that you can get on with other things whilst it does all the cooking and blending for you.

So armed with my £5 off £40 Aldi voucher (today's Mirror) I got one. (Bought a 27p item to get it over.)

Just had it on boiling water (to test) and it is one mighty machine. It constantly clicks and ticks but I "think" it is meant to be doing that.

Am happy with the £34.99 price I ended up paying using the coupon. Especially with the other functions it can do as well as making soup.

I can see me using this a lot.

This was discounted to £15 in my local store in November and has been the best £15 I have spent in a long time. Fresh soup every two days.
I tried out my Aldi soup maker for the first time today and wanted chunky soup. I followed the instructions but There were no chunks of veg, it was like puree. Anyone else find this or am I doing something wrong? It also moved around on the work surface which is a bit worrying.
Alison0903, exactly the same thing happened with mine the first time I used it! Then I tried the smooth soup to see what would happen, that isn't working, the alarm kept sounding so I went back to the chunky soup because I didn't want to mess around taking all the ingredients out, it cooked the soup and blended it as usual but there was burnt soup at the bottom. I'm going to send it back to Silver Crest.
I agree this soup maker isn't good in regards it don't do chunky soup just puree and its very noisey which scares the pants of my grandchild when its starts i've given it away and now looking for a good soup maker...best of luck to anyone who buys this product..x
