Go through Wire FM and buy printable voucher that gets 2 adults and 2 children (max age 15) in for £15.. normally £15.50 per adult with 1 kid free per adult, so a saving of £16. You also get to use the 'express' queue to get in as you've paid in advance.

Bargain. Thanks for posting, love this place. Well worth a visit.

I know a dentist who will be interested in this.

How far is it with travelling for this... Hmmm

Well done OP
Great place would really recommend it, tho when i was there last july there was some court case going on about a female worker being killed by one of the animals oO

Thanks for posting We are going that way on holiday on Monday and it was on our to do list Now it will be cheaper More money for ice cream Heat added

Great thanks OP

Easily the best zoo in the UK.

We're members of Chester zoo as it's much closer to us, but we've been members of south lakes before, despite it taking us two hours to get there we tend to go at least six or seven times a year, the kids love it & we do too.

Have some heat!

Been loads of times, what people need to remember with admission prices' are.... Adults are £15.50 which allows upto 4 children in for free not 1. Says that on the website. I get these vouchers because it saves when there's two adults. It's a great zoo. Got one printed and ready

I've emailed them about a voucher like this in the past, and vouchers are only for use for 2adults & 2kids. Up to 4 children free per adult is only when you pay full admission price of £15.50 per adult.

The best zoo we have been to so far(London zoo, Woburn safari, Dudley Zoo, West Midlands zoo, robinhood zoo in IOW, plus many others)well worth it even at full price..

Local to this place and I hated it.
When ever you go on a "deal" you get pestered for a voluntary donation on entry, which doesn't feel entirely voluntary. £5 for guide book, which isn't needed.
The place is cramped, crowded, and a fairly small park compared to most. That said the field at the back is huge to allow the non vicious animals to roam.
But the rhino was been kept in when we were there, pacing up and down it's tiny enclosure. The lions were kept in, the giraffes were in, the hippos were in and also their enclosure is not viewable, only if they're outside. Tiger looked bored sat in its cage, hundreds of people scrumming to see through the two or three tiny viewing windows.
And if with toddlers, beware of the train. While its a nice novelty, its a health and safety disaster waiting to happen. Track runs down the middle of the main pathway below the entrance, with no fencing, allowing people to cross freely and oblivious to the train itself. We saw one man clipped by the train, and several others dashing out of the way at the last second. Felt I had to carry my toddlers to keep them safe.

If you want to see bored animals in tiny enclosures for not much money, then this is your place. Save your cash and visit a bigger setup.

I'm local too and have been using a voucher and since it's been extended. I've never seen the giraffes kept in and frequently see them around the cafe area. I have a 2 pre-schoolers and never thought the train was a risk if I kept them under control .... the new road train....that's another story. That is an accident waiting to happen.
It is a bigger zoo now and in the past I've filled half a day, now it's a full day with a new play area. Yep the pants thing of being sent through the gift shop on the way out. The hippos also have a new pond and the flamingos have been relocated. The lions were roaming. The Tiger holds were closed and tbh I haven't seen any since the girl died but have never gone out of my way to look.
I've never been pestered for money only at the "free" time over the winter which with the minimum £5 seems to have stopped. Yes, the owner isn't the most favoured person to locals and tbh on facebook he appears a person I'd nicely not like to be friends but the zoo is more than him (the life-size cardboard cut-out of him seems to be gone lol).

It's now a better zoo. Yes, improvements to the cafe would be great as queueing out the door isn't fun but you won't go wrong for a £15 day out

great place to visit they have a new access road now too they have spent a good bit of money on new enclosures which are bigger for animals the free roaming animal walk is great thanks op i will purchase some tickets

Under 2 have free entry ? true !!!! ???

Having these vouchers allows you to bypass the busy pay on the day queue which was great for us last week.

New in town. Can anyone tell me is this zoo better than chester zoo?

Great if you like seeing giraffes and rhinos roaming around in red clay mud! The cafe is like an auction mart too! With a track record of several animals escaping and having to be shot and one keeper being malled to death by a tiger I think I'll give it a miss. Visited Blair Drummond last week and that is in a different league.

I visited South Lakes last year before the ongoing refurb & it was really good. The cafe wasn't an 'auction mart' as stated but was really nice & had decent food. The park can get busy and feels a little cramped on some of the walkways but there was alot of work going on at the time. I visited Chester zoo last week and for the £60 we paid, it was poor. Really gone down hill.
Just a heads up, if you are thinking of visiting Blair Drummond on anyones recomendations, you might want to take a stab vest! mirror.co.uk/new…386
voucher bought for our next visit in a few weeks

yes, we're members of Chester zoo & prefer south lakes, if it weren't for the distance (we live in Liverpool) we'd be at south lakes all the time. The animals are happier, the kids get to see more of them, interact more with them, get closer to them.

Our kids get enthused by south lakes, whereas they see Chester zoo as something akin to an exhibition of animals, they see south lakes as an interaction with animals.

A lovely park and really informal and worth a visit

Hi
How do I buy this voucher please, I have been on wire fm but can't see a link.
Thanks

really? we live next to this and we won't go back, especially when comparing to chester zoo which is a in a different league, we won't go back, especially with the problems they've had.

I'm guessing that 2 adults can use use the voucher with no children? Please correct if i'm wrong.

Did you get your voucher via this wire fm site? I was scared in case it was a scam with it being so cheap? thanks
