The now-legendary animated series makes a big-screen splash with a feature-length film that features the same crude animation but now has the license to be as rude as it wants to be. Keep the kids away and enjoy the episode of SOUTH PARK you always hoped you'd see. Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman sneak into the R-rated Terrence and Philip movie, and before you know it, their angry parents have declared a war on Canada. A musical in disguise, the film features many memorable songs as well as a touching relationship between Saddam Hussein and Satan himself. The showstopping tune "Blame Canada!" was nominated for a 1999 Academy Award for Best Song.

Took my teenage kids to see this when it first came out. Amazed that this got past the censor but thought it was outrageously funny!

Funniest. Movie.Ever.

South park was way funnier back then. Also they have over-complicated / over-produced the animation these days. The show peaked in about season 5 or 6 IMO.

I think the comedy is a lot more evolved in the later seasons (7,8,9,) but it's all personal taste. The last few seasons have been rather hit and miss, as they always seem to be carrying some form of political or cultural message. Decent price for a fairly funny film though.

Viva are playing all the old episodes Mon-Thurs at 10pm. It surprised me how different they to the recent seasons. I never noticed the change watching it from the late 90s up to today, but looking back it is like an entirely different show (a bit like how the simpsons went from hilarious to cringeworthy). I agree with the hit and miss comment, seasons 8,9 & 10 were all excellent but recently (is it season 13 now?) they are really bad. The past season's episodes were not so much political allegories as attacks on easy targets. They also rip off way too many celebrities and pop culture to a point where it isn't funny. I would like to see a new episode where they deliberately make a 'retro' south park ep containing Barbrady, Jimbo, Mr Mackey etc which is about South Park, rather than taking the mickey out of another blockbuster movie.

Hot hot hot, and the movie itself is very funny

It's the other way around by far. Right now it's always "let's have a situation, and somehow blow it up to absurd proportions".

u dont understand south park the old ones were jus random funny stories newer ones always hav some sort of message to em and blowin stuff up to absurd proportions is what makes south park funny they exaggerate everything and offend as many people as they can then deliver a clever message at the end
