Some really low fares:

Waterloo -> Weymouth from £9.70 (one way)
Waterloo -> Isle of Wight/Yarmouth (via Wightlink) from £12.75 (one way)

From 4th September to 2nd October 2017 we have 100,000 Advance tickets at half price when you buy online. The half price Advance tickets are available for travel on selected routes on South Western Railway services from 5th September to 3rd October 2017

I think you can also use a railcard with these which can decrease the price even further.

This is an online only deal, and fares won't show up in the National Rail planner, you have to use the South Western Railway planner.

EDIT: The ferry is included in the price

Waterloo! Couldn't escape if I wanted to (because they shut down half the platforms...)

You might want to add a www. to the start of your link as it seems it won't redirect to the website without it.

Am I the only one who read it as "awww" ......

Make sure the ferry is included in the price otherwise it is quite expensive. Most weekends now the trains will be empty as the Peak time for going to the seaside has already gone. Hence the sale.

What am I doing wrong here? Follow the links and search for some of the trips which are listed to be ~£12 yet they come up as £50+. How does one actually get the discounts?

I do get annoyed by so many train companies and airlines when they put sales on - they don't make it at all easy to see where the best deals can be found. With this sale for example, for me to look for a deal out of London, I'd have to go through every London station as the departure station, and then pick a destination and hope for the best. They really need some kind of visual representation that clearly shows which journeys are cheap, and when. I may not have thought about going to Margate for the weekend, but if I saw it for £15 return on the weekend, I may consider it!

I agree. Stupid of them to advertise this but then make it so hard to use. My first contact with the new company, and not a good one!

I've spent quite a bit of time looking and I haven't yet been able to find any 'half-price' tickets.
Either the special web page is redirecting wrongly to the normal booking page, or there are a limited number of tickets that you might happen to find. Ot maybe they haven't loaded thm yet!
I've just noticed GWR are also offering half-price fares and again I haven't found one yet.

Their new app is annoying as hell with the constant need to reiterate that you're logged in.

Got 4 trips to London coming up & Not finding anything at all All regular £48.60....one way.

Maybe you need to wait until it goes live tomorrow!!!

It's already live!

I can't find the Bournemouth to London for £8.60!

price just shot up by £4 but booked for £30 return still not bad have some heat

This is almost okay if you are lucky enough to live near one of the very few eligible stations - mostly end of line terminus stations.

It's an unimaginative and lazy resurrection of the Stagecoach/SWT Mega Train (or whatever it was called) deal.

It's a terrible shame that this network still won't provide a sensibly priced advance ticket purchase system for people who travel occasionally and can't afford the obscene rip off fares.

Couldn't find a single half price ticket.
