Asda do their own brand version called 'Deep South' that is just about as good (no noticeable difference if mixed with lemonade, etc, just missing a hint of kick when neat) that is currently about £9.50 for 70cl - a worthwhile alternative

No idea if this is a good price but im giving you heat based on the fact i love Southern Comfort!

sorry I didn't realise a preference for a certain drink could go out of fashion, what are the cool people drinking these days?

I do think there is a difference, but like you say your mixing with lemonade so I can see whyt here perhaps wouldn't be much difference for you. Personally I find soco too sweet in lemonade so stick to boring old coke, its pepsi is that ok? as a mixer

Fab, This is my favourite drink

Nope,

Nobody has bought a bottle in years, but the supermarkets like the soldiers they are keep putting it out in the hope that one of these days someone, just someone, may come in and buy a bottle.

Yes, but you don't need to choose a second bottle of SC, there's Jack Daniels etc.

heat added

Not as strong as it used to be - originally + 80% when whisky, rum etc. were only 70% in old money.

Now only 35º, as compared to 37.5 - 40º for most spirits

Thanks I might try it

My favourite beverage! Personally I have to drink it neat with no ice as even that waters down the taste. Lovely on a cold winters day, sadly the snow has blocked my road so no chance of me getting to Morrisons or them getting to me

Hopefully the deal will continue once the snow has cleared.

think aldis version is better than asdas

Not as good as the 'proper' american one though. I think the one we buy here is made in Ireland.
You can also get a southern comfort reserve which is a blend with bourbon but you have to go to america to get it (unless someone knows differently).

I bought some SC Reserve at duty free a few years ago when flying home from the states but I much prefer the standard stuff. Thats the only place I have seen it for sale so would assume it's not available over here, probably because it has a higher alcohol content.
