The lady down the road showed me hers
Any good?, Stupidly sold mine and now I need 1
👌🏻 been after a cheap mower for ages, thought I’d missed the boat with spring upon us. Cheers!
Ta, this was on my list of things to do this week.
I think if it’s the same as mine, you have to take the wheels off/on to change the height setting - 3 height settings. Been a few times the wheels have fallen off when mowing which has wound me up - neighbours nearly saw me giving it a Fawlty Towers ‘damn good thrashing’.

Collection box isn’t huge so needs changing more compared to my old Bosch Rotak.

For the price it’s ok though - if on a budget
This is the one they were selling for £24 two years ago, so not their best price. Bought one then, have used it probably around 20 times or less tbh, it does the job without any hiccups. So unless you want something fancy and just something to keep the lawn tidy, just go for the cheapest you can find.
Don't know if there are any cheaper ones right now...
I got one of these for my daughter for £20 (down from £30) due to a damaged box a couple of years ago and it is a good little mower for small gardens. The wheels do come off from time to time but otherwise it's good for the money. A similar Bosch will cost a lot more and is not worth the extra

Thanks, plugged my expensive flymo in the other day and its completely dead. No more am I spending loads of money just to cut the grass a dozen times a year. Added to that I want something light and unlike the flymo this looks pretty lightweight. Just have always had a hover mower and this is wheeled, not sure if any good on a bumpy lawn?
Are these easy to store?
I wouldn't recommend ordering from Homebase at the moment. I ordered a cheap Flymo on the 22nd of March. I'm now waiting 21 days for that next-day delivery to arrive. Their customer service is non existent at the moment and I cannot get responses to email/twitter/facebook.
would go for the aldi ferrex if you can afford more (£80)

Edit: If you can get one

Had an order from homebase on the 23rd of march and still waiting, order with caution

Unless you want to wait about 6 months for delivery don't bother!
Does anyone know how to cancel an order for this, weeks and weeks without a lawnmower is no good for me
Looks like a clone of the standard budget mowers. They will do a decent job on most gardens. I've got an Argos supplied one in bright yellow.

First cut of the year today. Stripes are made bolder by a rake and roll.
Average knock off of bosch rotak

My thoughts exactly, I've got an Aldi one that looks the same, only in green. Payed £40 something for it and had it for 7 years with no issues.

Hi, had the exact problem, would not start, checked fuse, etc, found out off YouTube and Google it was the switch in the handle, got one off ebay, really cheap and easy to fit, up and running, worth a try

Thanks and have took your advise, it was indeed what appears to be a lose wire in the switch. I actually cut the wire before it went in to the switch to test for a broken wire, before even thinking about a simple thing like the switch. I have now ordered a 3 pin connector, thanks and need to cancel my order more than ever now with Homebase

Same with mine except when I opened the switch and tested it, it was fine. Turned out the extreme angle the cable had to go through as it entered the switch coupled with time spent in the shed over winter had led to a partial (invisible) cable break.

Chopped the last a couple of inches off, wired it back in and it was fine.
Homebase stated delivery within 7 days. Today was day 7 - no updates or replies to messages, so thinking that it’s not coming anytime soon. Has anyone ordered anything from Homebase recently that’s actually been delivered?

I have been waiting over 3 weeks now for 10 items I ordered, I had 3 turn up within a week and that's been it, received an automated email the other day saying sorry if I haven't received my stuff yet.

I emailed back saying I wasn't impressed and would like cancel the rest of my order, finally got a reply completely ignoring what I asked for and said it should be here by the 21st of April (27 days after originally ordering).. I won't be holding my breath!

I finally got through to someone in the phone yesterday and asked to cancel my order. “Sorry, it’s going to ship in the next few days so we can’t cancel it now. It will be with you 3-5 days after dispatch.”

im going to reject the delivery and send it back with the courier. I appreciate that everyone is busy, and resources are stretched but Homebase have struggled to meet any sort of demand.

Same for me, email to cancel, filled in the online form to cancel and now an email saying item has shipped and will be here on Tuesday, I have ordered a few things including a sofa whilst we have been in the midst of the Covid-19 virus and have to say Homebase are useless compared to other retailers I have dealt with. The problem is with refusing delivery knowing what a bunch of fools these people are is getting a refund is not going to be easy, just wished I had never got involved with these people. I can clearly see why Amazon are so successful and places like Homebase go down the pan

I also had the email, and selected “cancel order”, followed by a confirmation that my refund would be processed.

Yeaterday, a courier arrived with my order which I asked to be taken away.

It’s anyone’s guess as to when, or whether I’ll get my money back.

Poor show, I appreciate it is difficult times but Amazon along with other companies have manged, the fact that we have filled out the online form to cancel and they have totally ignored that request really show what a poor company they are. I had a feeling this would happen though, each order that is cancelled is money lost to them and I guess like most companies they are struggling financially as well as struggling to run their business.

It is a shame, because they, more so than an independent should have the resources available to them to cope with the increased demand. Realistic delivery times would be appreciated, and would reduce customer dissatisfaction. As you say, a poor show.

Yes so true, manged to refuse delivery today, I guess it will be a game to get a refund. People make negative comments about Amazon, Lest put it like this, I ordered some cream yesterday for £2 and it arrived today as opposed to a £40 lawnmower ordered 2 weeks ago from Homebase and despite my cancellation it arrived today 14 days later and a charge of £6 for delivery. What a joke. I can not ever complain about Amazon, these companies such as Homebase etc need to look at a business model like Amazon.
To add to the farce, I’ve had a £6 credit on my card from Homebase, presumably for the delivery charge. Not sure why though...
