Good price, but what happens when the no-name engine or carb fails outside the guarantee.
I'd prefer to go for a Briggs and Stratton for not a lot more.

these have been down to under £80 a few weeks ago so gotta vote cold

You gotta be kidding... Show me where!

The under £80 deal was for the version that was not self-propelled. I think this was around £100

ahaha... so all models are the same hum? ... my deal is for a "self-propelled" which you might not know the difference? the one you are referring to is below:

I have had one of these for years, and has been very reliable, however the early Sovereign do have a Briggs and Stratton engine. This is still a good deal for a Self-Propelled mower, and you can get spares direct from Sovereign.

Got a MacAllister one from B&Q few months ago was £138 took oap with me 15% grey weds plus £5 for registering the oap.

Even £138 was a great price, metal chassis with briggs & Stratton engine. I looked at the Homebase one, all plastic felt cheap and nasty tbh.

It's a good deal for a cheap mower so hot BUT I'd spend a bit more get a metal chassis & a branded engine

so what the difference between a push mower and a Self-propelled mower ?

Some of the feedback is bad - plastic and a very small grass box. Needs a lot of maintenance.

Any good metal chassis cheapo push lawn mower that's of reasonable quality?

Get a second hand quality brand if you are after a cheap one. I got a second hand Briggs and Stratton push for £50, nearly new it's a good mower.

I have this mower, it's alright for the price.

I looked at the Sovereign one yesterday, but was a bit put off by the reviews and the fact it was made of plastic. Opted for this Qualcast one at 169.99 instead and can't fault it.

I had to get a self propelled as can't manage pushing a mower anymore, means the difference between being able to cut mine and next doors grass without putting myself in bed for the following few days. I'd highly recommend one especially if you have any medical conditions that make pushing something hard/impossible.
