Seems cheap. RRP is probably a joke, but the taps I bought from them recently are very good.

There is a really simple rule when buying brassware. Buy from a quality manufacturer who will carry parts for at least 8 years after the product is discontinued. Franke, Mira, Grohe etc.

You're assuming a no brand tap will last 10 years. My guess is 3-5 on an average. I fit quite a few taps and my advice never changes. Cheap taps are better for me as I get repeat custom every few years, easy money. As they say a fool and their money are easily parted. I never replaced the supataps in my bathroom when I moved in and they are still going strong after 57 years! I will redo the bathroom in the next year but whatever I replace them with won't last that long.

nice one needed a new set of Bath/basin taps etc ordered a few good things and free delivery for tomorrow #heat :-)

I bought one 2 weeks ago - its great no problems or regrets. I cant fault it

Yeah, I know what you're saying fish323, and agree with you in many respects. But if a '57 year' durable tap is what you're after, then maybe this is not for you, but there are many people that will be perfectly happy with this item for the short term/low usage/tight budget.

They are the very people I depend on to keep the cash flowing in. No pun intended. By my count they represent 75% of the stuff I fit, excellent. Long may it continue. These aren't for me. I will go with Franke in the kitchen and Grohe in the bathroom. But for the rest of you please snap them up and ignore my advice.

Seriously people who don't want to use the deal should not bother posting. Waste of time. Congratulations mate you fit taps. Not exactly rocket science.
Good deal, heat added

Ppl who don't want to use the deal should stop wasting their time posting negativity. U don't like it fine. But posting about how rubbish something is, when I'm guessing u have never used this particular tap, is pointless. Congratulations you fit taps. It's not rocket science. Go on YouTube

You arrogant muppet - I don't fit taps, but I'm still happy to listen to the opinions of people that do, and just who the hell are you to tell people whether they should or shouldn't be posting on anything?

You might also want to try actually replying to a particular post when you want to rant, rather than just posting an unlinked rant - Hopefully your youtube plumbing skills are better than your online etiquette.

LOL - You beat me to it, and put it a bit more politely than I did - Sentiment exactly the same though :-)

Sounds like a solid piece of advice to me. And is relevant to this deal. You get what you pay for. This is a good deal for what it is, but as the items quality may be questionable is it truely a good deal?
I personally wouldnt trust this as it is used multiple times daily and that much use you need durability.

Can't argue at that price. I'd probably have changed bathroom decor and accessories before it dies anyway. Heat added

Not gonna argue with u fishy. U obviously have a bee in ur bonnet. Me on the other hand? I'm sick of ppl jumping straight in with two feet to down a post. We are in rescission. Ppl don't want to spend £200 on taps. If the taps fail in 3 years what's the loss? A fiver a year. If a £200 tap fails in 10 year, what's the loss? £20 a year. No brainier, good post and ideal for the less fortunate who can't have the best of everything.

Oh and another thing. Don't ever come on here and call people names. Did I call u any names?? Arrogant muppet???? Bang of order that

And I'm not trolling either. Just fed up.

Had a few of the so called "top end" taps, and had more problems with them than the cheap ones to be honest. Ceramic cartridges in particular forever going!

Unfortunately mate, HUKDeals isn't even infested with trolls. The sad fact is that these people are serious!

With taps it is not critically important as you can just buy a new one and pay someone £50 to fit it. However, where it starts to get messy is with concealed shower valves. Once they go, (I have had this happen after 3 years) if you cant get the cartridge then the old one has to go and inevitably it is a re-tiling job on the bathroom unless the customer was careful enough to keep a few spare tiles. As far as I know the Bathstore don't manufacture the brassware and trying to follow the paper trail to the manufacturer and then hoping they still stock parts is often a fruitless search.
With the likes of Franke they have a full online parts list direct from them. Just look for the tap, order the part, and 2 days later it is with you. Frank kitchen taps start from £100. I have two for the last 12 years in two kitchens and only had to replace the o ring in one which was generic anyway. I quite fancy this one when I do the refurb.

You might want to drop the kiddie text chat, as it really does look out of place on here, but as to the other, me personally, no, but you waded straight in with a pair of size 9s and started slating someone, who had done no more than come on here and politely offer the benefit of what he has experienced, so, if the cap fits and all that......

When I had my bathroom fitted, everything went in very very snug, and whilst the bath taps weren't that cheap, they weren't top notch, and do really now need changing... BUT, and it's a big but, we can't get to the ruddy things any more because they were fitted to the back of the bath before the bath was dropped into place, and now we can't get to them to change the taps, because there is no room underneath or to the sides of the bath to be able to reach the pipes or the holes for the taps - grrrrr - But c'est la vie.

At some point i will probably have to bite the bullet and pull the damn bath out (It's chopped into the wall at both ends, and tiled in as well), but for the sake of a set of taps, it's very very annoying. I will NOT be skimping on those taps again if I do that though!!! You live and learn!! :-)

This is the problem with no brand taps. Had the taps been branded then you could have changed the cartridges without having to remove the taps. It is one of those live and learn experiences we all have them over different things.

My experience of BATHSTORE is don't bother.
Whenever fitting items supplied by a customer there is always a problem with something!
It appears to be cheaply sourced items and kits, put together by people who have never fitted anything in their lives!
Good price though for this; if it goes okay. :-)

If you really don't understand what you did that people took umbridge with, then I don't really know what else to say there to be honest.

The kiddie chat/script was referring to your use of "U r the..." etc etc. You are not on your phone now, and you really should notice the lack of that type of abbreviation in these forums. It looks childish to most people, and is generally frowned upon in online forums, and will usually get you flamed, so just a heads up that if you want to keep doing it, you shouldn't be surprised at the response.

The real problem with this deal isn't the taps, it is Bathstore themselves, they are so incompetent, I will not bore you with the details, suffice to say they caused me grief because of their lousy service.

Is it not possible to go through the wall from the other side to replace the taps? If not then when you replace the taps either get your plumber to fit taps that come out of the wall, or put them in the corner rather than back wall. I'd also never recommend tiling a bath panel, no matter how nice it looks

Cheap taps will only last a couple of years before they start dripping, unfortunately I've had the same problem with the likes of Grohe and Franke, the only difference is you can get spares (about £20 for a pair of cartridges).
