Spalding NBA Gameball Replica Outdoor Basketball £11.99 @ Amazon

I've had a few of these over the years and normally expect to pay £17+ depending on the shop.

The reviews on Amazon are poor, but that's mainly ppl complaining that the black print comes off quickly (i suspect they've been using it on tarmac etc).

It's a good ball that holds its shape well & feels decent in your hands, for £12 it's a good deal.

The reviews are odd - never had a problem with any of mine tbh, but then i don't buy them to look at, i buy them to play with X)

As the reviews say the black comes of fairly easily, but it's just painted on, so any serious use if going to bring it off. The ball itself is very durable.

Ordered, thanks OP!

Thanks ordered, delivery tomorrow!
Definitely won't be this price for long!

awesome I've recently been playing some bball with work colleagues, just bought full kit (bb shoes, top, shorts and headband lol) they all have basket balls but with my own I can find a local hoop to practice on.

That ball is not for tarmac surface. Check surface of ball when zoomed in and compare with this Spalding Street NBA and its cheeper...

Got one already, so stop buying now. Otherwise, would go for it!

Correct - hence (i suspect) the poor reviews on amazon; people who have been using them on coarse surfaces.

A great ball for indoors though.

Beautiful and timeless classic design. Like an adidas tango football, or a wilson NFL ball.

Best (budget) outdoor ball I've ever used is this one: newitts.com/pro…htm (different from Costco Wilson ones).

So...if this is an outdoor ball, then what other surface am I supposed to use it on other than tarmac? What other outdoor surfaces do people here play on?

Hang on. Just read the description...rubber. Therefore...could someone please explain how it's meant to be 'good'??

First time I see a chart with a 50% price drop, heat

I think its reduced because it is the Old Spalding ball from last season as you can see it is signed by ex - commissioner David Stern whereas the latest one I.e the sports direct one is signed by Commissioner Adam Silver.

The ball is exactly the same quality though, great or indoor basketball.

I'm confused. I'd like to order, but is this rubber or more like composite leather? From zooming in, it looks more like some sort of soft tack composite leather. Thanks.

It's a rubber ball. The dimples are made to feel like leather, but it's definately rubber.

Thanks, but I think I'll pass. There are other balls available out there, made from composite leather, that I think are better. Perhaps they are a little more, but the Wilson one I linked to earlier is very hard wearing, and Costco also do a nice cheap soft tack ball (only useful to anyone with membership of course). I find I always injure my hands with a rubber ball. Usually skin being pulled back under nails (if you know what I mean?).

Yes i know what you mean, stings like anything. I tend to get a little bit of that with the really 'bobbly' balls
