Marathon day themed deal!

I used this watch to train for the marathon last year. It's not without some excentricities, but even for the £100 I paid it matched my training partners £250 Garmin in both features and accuracy. In fact his didn't have music which is nice for the solo runs...

For £60 it is a deffo bargain.

There is also the newer model (Spark 3) for £113.58, but as far as I recall, the main difference is the ability to add a waypoint route it can then guide you on.

The last deal at the price neede a voucher which som people had issues with. This one just needs you to click on the deal!

Heat.

As I am watching the marathon, I am seriously tempted.

I bought it last offer and while it is pretty good I would say that I have had issues with phone syncing , it wouldn’t sync with my wife’s huawei phone at all and my LG keeps loosing it and I have to reinstall the app to get it to connect .
music works great tho and that’s mainly what I wanted so I haven’t got to carry my phone in the gym

I mainly sync via the cable with my computer (as it charges it at the same time), but I have synced via both my android phone and ipad, perhaps because I do it so rarely I've not noted any problems?
Really pleased with mine - no issues. However, just be aware that TomTom is leaving the wearables market - so not sure about future support/updates.

Just went on their site and it seems that code still works as i had the watch and strap in basket for 59.99 worth a go
Don't touch with a bargepole. I bought the non music version it was terrible. Battery life non existent, heart rate turns off after a few mins.
So many versions when you search for "Spark music," this is the one without heart rate monitor - right?
Heat.

Seems this includes the extra strap also.

Extra heat.

This doesn't have heart rate on it, that's the cardio version. Battery is brilliant but be aware you need to charge it if your using music and GPS for long periods, if your not using these features you'll get a long time out of it

I agree, battery lasted perfectly fine (and still does) for me.

Did a three hour full gps, HR and music run and It took around 50% of the battery. As far as these kind of devices go, this is fairly normal.

To be fair, I think the music was about 1/2 an hour less as my headphones ran out of charge!

Battery for mine has been great so far lasted 11 days and still on about 40% although i havent used gps and only used a small amount for music
There is no hr monitor though ,that is a different mpdel
Heat for great price. Seems to be limited to large strap (black) for both watch and spare. Has anyone else managed to order small strap option at the same price?
Got one, good level of accuracy, music is a bonus albeit all my downloaded music is ancient and it does destroy the battery. Strap went after a year so free extra is a bonus although TomTom did send me a replacement for free
Would this be a decent Pebble replacement?

Would this be a decent Pebble replacement?

As someone who owns both - no

2 different uses. This is an excellent sports tracker (running and cycling) but it's too big and too limited as a smart watch
Would buy if the music feature is straightforward. Hoping someone can answer a couple of my questions:
1) how do you transfer songs into the device? Is it only through iTunes or WMP syncing?
2) is it any way possible to sync Spotify play lists to the device if i have a full account?
3) does it pair with most Bluetooth headphones and would the headphone controls work with this?
4) does it do any smart watch features like phone notifications at least?

Any responses would be appreciated. Cheers.
1)The advertised way is via WMP (or possibly itunes, never looked) but I'm pretty sure some people just dump the music on it via explorer. See previous post for this as that is where I saw this method.
2.) Not that I know of / have ever heard
3.) I use the ones that came with it, so cannot say
4.) A recent update gives it phone notifications, but see my previous post. I don't really see it as a smartwatch so don't use this functionality
I've had this for a while and can answer as follows to the best of my knowledge:

1) connects to computer via the charging cable - drag & drop MP3 or AAC audio files onto it via Explorer (including iTunes playlists)
2) no
3) yes it will pair with any Bluetooth headphones that support the A2DP profile (pretty much all current ones do) - not tried using the 'phones controls but I'd imagine they'd work
4) no

Argos eBay Store sell this watch with the small purple strap for 58.99 or 51.99 without the music feature.

I bought this on the last offer. Cost me £5 more with a spare strap. When setting up the tomtom sports app on an iPad it goes through the steps of searching for playlists on your device which pulled through all my iTunes playlists. I then just clicked ok to add the ones I want. Not sure if it works with Spotify though. Not tried with headphones yet. I get phone call and text message notifications on mine.
Has anyone had any experience linking a chest heart rate monitor to this by the way? Is it worthwhile? I can't seem to find any deals on one but could be tempted at some point
Thanks all for your responses. Decisions decisions!

And the decision is? I'm excited to hear
I've had a Spark Cardio Music for about 18 months and the other half has a non Cardio version and for the money they're great.

Providing you update the quick GPS by syncing with the app once every few days then it locks onto the GPS location in a couple of seconds and the tracking is accurate.

A number of people have had issues with syncing via bluetooth however in my experience it's worked fine with Samsung and Google phones. Firmware 1.3.255 is stable and I've purposely not updated my watch as it works so well but I believe other later firmwares now resolve most issues.

Tomtom announced last summer that they were are supposed to be pulling out of the wearables market so long time support could be an issue but overall these

Feature wise it has most things you'll need and it's easy to use.

I'm running a lot more nowadays and fancy a Garmin 935 for it's extra features but at £300+ I'm in no hurry to upgrade as the Tomtom does the basics very well.
Got an earlier type of tomtom think it's the multi sport

This looks a good upgrade

Decided not to go for it in the end and the reason is the music feature sounded like an almighty faff.
I think really these days everything should be done (or at least have the option to be done) through the smart phone/tablet directly.
I can imagine me transferring the first of songs and then never bothering again! Thanks once more to all. Defo given me more insight for the correct criteria.
