The huge debate over HDMI cables shows that for lengths of less than 5m, providing the cable has been manufactured to the proper standard, you waste money by buying expensive cables. These cables are a good length, well made, and cheaper than the 1.2m cable so represent good value. You can buy 8 of these for the same price as currys would sell you one for that does the same job!

Save your money!

Classic! Can just see her face on Xmas morning. Need somewhere to sleep christmas day night by any chance?:roll:

Cheapest I can find anywhere else is £17.60 at svp.co.uk plus P&P

It IS HDMI version 1.3 compliant.

HDMI Version 1.3

The postage might kill the ebuyer option - but if your ordering some other parts from there, it's a good deal at just under £6 + twice the length.

The cheapest I can get the ebuyer one to is £8.54 including delivery and it is too close to the 5m limit for me. I think at the point of needing a 5m cable I would look at a higher quality.

The other advantage is that the Sparta lead has a braided protection as an extra

Ebuyer deal only good if you need more than a couple of leads.

with hdmi a £1 cable from homebargains will do the same job as a £30 cable from comet
so why pay extra for no diffrence and gold does nothing to digital code

I believe he's right... didn't someone in America prove a £500 cable was as good as a £5 one.

I'm running HDMI @ 720p at 50 foot using a cheapo lead - and it's been great.

(is there a 5m hdmi limit - i know usb has a similar limit?)

Digital pulse signals do not suffer from loss as if it gets from A 2 B then its as complete as it was from the start. That's why it doesn't matter what a digital cable is coated in or made with so always buy the cheaper one. The weakest link though is with the connectors as no signal can get through if its totally broken.

I bought Gold cable from Amazon 99p and its great. There is no difference in cables whatever price in HDMI

good explanations here

I work for DSGi
selling expensive cables scores me bonus points meaning I get to pay my bills.
my moral barometer doesnt stretch as far as lying to customers that PURE AV cables are awesome, i just show em the ones we sell.
if they choose to go elsewhere thats fine, just no bonus for me!
