If the mower is ok just replace the cable. A lot cheaper.
Thanks I would if I knew how. I wouldn't know how to do that and would be quicker just to get a new one.

The Bosch rotak mowers are excellent though I think the build quality varies between models. I was lucky to get one of the Rotak 43R models I think a year or so back when it was on offer at B and Q half price around £85 and it’s been superb.

You could just use a connector block, or this item, This and join the wires back together
it's also available from argos stores for the same price

Randomly I have just replaced my lawn mower wire today. I didn't use a connecter block ( but that would be the easiest way) I undid the handle trigger and rewired a new cable in. Very simple to do it's just 2 wires live and neutral.
I'm surprised damaging the wire is a big deal. I just spliced the wire back together and wrapped a big wodge of electricians tape around it. That was a decade ago

With how wet grass is although you have been fine up till now, you would be wise to want to change it to a waterproofed tape such as self amalgamation tape.
