At £100 for pedals, a 1% discount isn't much of a deal.

Who would pay £100k for a car when they can buy a Dacia?!
Nice. Like a Ferrari of the bike world.
Not that excessive when people are happy to spend a grand on a phone.

middle aged men with too much money who never had a push bike as a kid.... I had a bike from 2yr old to 16 yr old, then I bought a real one
Is this the bike, which Armstrong is settling for his lawsuit settlement?

Just buy a vehicle with low emissions and you'll not need to pay any road tax.

Nope its because Peter Sagan won the World Championships again, and then won Paris-Roubaix on one of these.
Sagan didnt use Di2 on his legendary Roubaix ride this year, because of the cobbles...

I bet if you ask nicely they'll swap the £995 carbon cranks with built in dual power meters for some £300 alloy cranks with no power meters for no extra charge.

Firstly it's vehicle excise duty. Secondly the roads are for everyone. Thirdly bikes don't pollute so don't have a VED attached.

If you're struggling to pay VED, maybe you should get a bike

To be fair he missed out the bit where roads are paid for out of general taxation so anyone who pays taxes of any kind pays for the roads and that the money from vehicle excuse duty just about covers the cost of the Highways Agency. Buy this bike for 10k and 20% of the cost will go into the pot that pays for the roads. Seeing as a bike is so light and causes no meaningful damage to the roads in use then really cyclists are overpaying for what they use.

Comment was posted in jest, my dude. I don't think cyclists should pay road tax. If nothing else it would be a cluster ahem trying to administer it. For a start we'd need an exemption for kids under 16 who've promised to stay away from busy roads and only ride on the pavements.
