I saw these in store about 2 weeks ago.
They look rather big, they still pretty pricey, but I'm planning on buying a few for Christmas.

how many tails do get in a box ,look nice

Two per box
£2 per box in canada

During the lobster festival in canada
you can get them for next to nothing
ten pounds is dear

we dont live in Canada and the flight will be at least £400 round trip.

Plus I don't think they would be too keen on you bringing a suitcase or two full of seafood on the return flight.

Aldi in Scotland do take credit cards don't know about the rest of the UK though.

the tail has the most meat so thermidor anyone?

I love lobster but we don't have aldi here in NI.

As far as I'm aware they don't take credit cards like Mastercard or Visa but they do take cards like Maestro that are linked to your bank account.

This story says Aldi are selling it for £5

Congratulations on posting the most pointless comments of 2013.

I pop over to Alaska where they are even cheaper at £1.99 a box.....

The claw meat is usually nicer imo. I find the tail can get rather tough and rubbery.

Also an entirely different species. In the UK we have Homarus gammarus, while over there it is Homarus americanus, which are so abundant they're littering the seafloor.

There's really no comparison to be made.

So, to surmise, the Canadian ones are effectively Chav Lobsters?

Is Aldi in Scotland , the same Aldi in England. There are two Aldis in Germany Aldi north and Aldi south .

Not at my local store, I hadn't shopped at Aldi for a few years until one opened up locally several months ago, I was amazed when I handed over my credit card only to have it handed back to me telling me they only take debit cards.

I just travel to Canada and set traps to catch them, winching them up to the boat and they're completely free. So definitely cold. oO

There's a much simpler way of saying it; we call them debit cards

Is this posting about credit or debit cards and not lobsters .

Has anyone tried these particular ones? Just asking because we are nowhere near Canada and seems a decent price

never had it,is there a comparison for taste?

Great price! Heat. Anybody had these from Aldi yet?

These tails seem fairly large but a bit pricey. For past few years Lidl have had whole frozen lobster for about £5. They are pretty small and the Canadian variety though.

This post is Hot for entertainment value

these aren't crayfish - cold.

there's raw sewerage in the sea, these lobsters are bottom-feeders. cold.

i like the song rock lobster. hot.

they scream when you boil them. cold.

you need to wear a bib when you eat them. cold.

so i can get this deal at lidl, yeah? hot.

my giro won't stretch this far. cold.

I think it's known as useless information! Lol

I have never tasted lobster so I will be getting these, thanks for the post

Heat added. Blow the product, these comments have had me in stitches!

Nom nom

i always remember jimmy nail as spender saying what have lobster thermadore and bl*w jobs got in common?....you dont get either of em at home very often.but at this price at least one is a posibility lol

Morrisons also do them at a fiver each. Even MacDonalds in Canada now does lobster rolls as there is such an abundance of them.

They can't compete with the quality of a Cornish or Scottish Lobster, different species. Thing is though they don't even compete on price to be fair. These work out at £41.63 a kilo, you should be able to get a quality UK Lobster for far less, even online you can buy live Cornish lobster around £35 a kilo or cheaper, little waste as shell weighs next to nothing.

I would eat these, but if it's your first time trying lobster you might wonder what all the fuss is about.

okay, I'll do the Canada lobster run.. place your orders here!

I flew from Canada to Leeds last year and bought 2 big lobsters from Leeds market for 20 Squid.

I may fly to Heathrow this year and go to Billingsgate to see if they are any cheaper.

Seriously though, fresh ones from the markets are pretty good value. I shall be getting 2 again this Christmas eve.
