OK so... there is a reason why i wanted a retro style 80's joystick and a reason why this deal should go hot!

My Uncle is in a wheelchair and is unable to use his hands/fingers very well.

Using a normal mouse is now proving to be near impossible as he clicks with the side of his hand and this generally moves the mouse...

After a tiring search for an adapted disability mouse, i have found that they are in the region of £60-150!!!

So... this little gem of a joystick can also be used as a mouse to control your computer with the use of a FREE joystick > mouse driver (see link)

news.softpedia.com/new…tml

This is now proving to be the most usable and cost effective ways of my uncle using his computer, and won't cost him the extortionate pricing that these 'adaptive learning' companies charge for a larger usable disability mouse.

A perfect alternative option and a perfect option for people with special needs or limited mobility!

Also.. its the cheapest price ive seen on the web for this Joystick (generally £18-25).

Also comes with some games, if your using it for kids or as a joystick!

Hotted.

Seems like a good deal, and useful for the reasons given.

Ps am I right in thinking it looks like a Kempston ? (The old Zx Spectrum joystick )

Yep, a Kempston pro. Great joystick in its time!

heat added - great post.

and yup, it looks like a kempston, wonder if it comes with auto-fire?

heat added. great world we live in we even rip off disabled people

Good for those using an Amiga emulator on there PC

I'm of an age where you don't really need to justify a retro joystick to me. But bypassing the disability adaptation racket makes me wish I could give you heat twice.

Great find, great post.

I have to agree with the "best joystick ever" claim!

Voted hot purely in the hope that someone with the same needs as your uncle sees this, just hope they can click on the deal!

Heat! Time for a game of JetPac.

Heat added. Fantastic post and the fact that this brought back so many spectrum memories makes it all the better.

Heated, deal is sort of half HUKD and half restoring faith in humanity

Sometimes adding heat is just a given.

Heated, kudos for finding another way around rip off disability aids. Have to admit it's one I've never implemented, there are other options slightly more affordable than the £500 rip offs.

Best joystick ever? Has to be this bad boy:

Fond memories of cannibalising them to replace worn out microswitches

I had both sticks shown for my 48k & 128k and totally agree speedkings where the daddy.

Have some heat. I broke my original one. Dam you Daily Thompson and your decathlon game

If you do still have an original competition pro joystick then you can buy adaptors to convert the connection to usb but very interesting use of a product nonetheless. Hot

very much … very much so!And another reason why my uncle (an ex spectrum user) will be made up with it!

you may as well go the whole hog and get some sinclair c5 style decals for the 'chair!

Had a few of these. They're no where near as durable (for gaming) as the originals.

great find op. it's terrible that they take advantage of people's disabilities. heat added, much respect.

This was my preferred joystick in my days although fond memories of the OP's one as well.
Heat added for price and your reason for the post

I used one of these with my Anstrad CPC 464; I can feel the forearm burn just looking at it

Preferred "The Bug", personally.

Heat added. Hope it helps some folk avoid those extortionate prices!
Well done OP. Hope your uncle loves it

Will be brilliant for MAME, and 3 of the "GAMES" series being included is an added bonus.

Good price.

Reading this thread reminded me of the old joysticks on the dragon 32, spend many an hour playing chucky egg with this bad boy.

no no no no no noooooooooooooooooooooooothis is the best EVER

These joysticks took a real hammering, the suction pads were incredible.
Pretty sure we broke one though trying to get Johnny Fartpants to fly high into the sky (Viz: The Game).

Prefered the Quickshot Mavrick myself.

Hot, been after one for a while but the £25 price tag put me off. Ideal for my emulators

The Kempston Pro design from the deal reminds me of my old spectrum days, my favourite stick was always the Powerplay Cruiser from my Amiga youth. I simply couldn't play the likes of Kick Off 2 and Sensible Soccer without it.

HAHA . My Mum was always shouting up the stairs if her plastic chopping board was missing from the kitchen. She knew it would be stuck to the bottom of my quickshot 2 in front of the computer
Edited by: "niceblokedave" 30th Aug 2013

quickshot pro was my old weapon of choice but liked the feel of the kempston and always wanted the speedking for the way out looked

Was just about to mention this also lol

Wiggling that joystick left to right so much, they were made well in those days as my one never broke

Good grief reminds me I've still got that as well for the Atari ST. Oh the endless hours of Xenon II: Megablast, Prince of Persia, Gods, The Chaos Engine, KOII & SS.
