Mine is a less appealing 4% off 75
Ok. So how do I check whether this applies to me? Sign into my account and look for a message? I’ve set offer notifications ’on’ in the Amex app and do get notified of deals I qualify for.

Same here, alas. I was going to stock up on their 20% off No 1 coffee, but there's a limit to my hoarding...

Does John Lewis count as a partner ?

no. It is just waitrose.
However - go to waitrose and buy giftcards for JL to work round this.

Not on my Costco Amex card
Not on my gold rewards.
not on BA Amex
I had this offer up until yesterday which I used happily as I can get the weekend paper for free! My new offer with Waitrose is a whopping £75 for 4%! I believe they are trying to up-sell but they ain't getting me to part that much!!
I had 5% off 45 until this week but didn't use it. I wonder if it's only on cards that didn't use the previous offer.
Not on my account but not bothered as I can get John Lewis gift cards at a 5% discount through the discount portal at work. And stock up when Amex offers 10% cashback at Morrisons.

how is this 5% cash back possible,
Isn't it they make from "you" (as a group of consumers or another group) 8%, then refund as cashback 5%, thus making 3% to run the scheme?
Overall, people do a bit of bureacracy, earn 3% as salary and bonus for this bureacracy.
