Just seen the TV advert saying spend £25 on Lego and receive a free £5 voucher.

I know people can spend hundreds on Lego so thought It could come in handy for some?

I'm glad you posted. I missed the end of the advert so didn't catch how much you need to spend and how much the free voucher is. Heat given. I plan to buy the Lego City Police Station in the next couple of weeks. So a free £5 voucher is a bonus

I saw this too but they have taken the website down to launch the new catalogue. Anyone know how long it is on for ?

I'm not sure how long it's on for?

If you were buying numerous Lego items could you split it and get a voucher for each item as long as they're each over £25? Should be able to?

you can do that, and use the £5 voucher you recieved from your first Lego purchase to buy your second set.

website will be back at about 7.30 in the morning. Cant remember how long its on for.

And yes split your items up to get more than one voucher

Or alternatively, buy vrey similar stuff from Megablocks etc for a lot less and dont worry about getting a £5 voucher... (_;)

if you spend over 50 you will receive 2 5 pounds gift cards?

I see your point and tried it with my son but got a "NOOOOOOO, it has to be lego!!!" (_;) bloody kids. Besides Mega Blox don't do Chima or anything like it so guess I'm stuck with being ripped of by lego!

Or don't!
Seriously, the cheaper non-Lego copies are rubbish quality, unless you want to go for a certain theme that Lego don't do.

why would you want to do that?! Megablokes don't do a range similar to Lego City, Star Wars Lego, Harry Potter lego. Find me a cheaper version of Star Wars lego, and I'll buy it. ;-)

Lego is SO expensive. Which makes this deal all the better. Have some heat.

Yes spend over £50 gives two £5 gift cards

Can someone confirm that they got this voucher in-store?

Yep, spent £29.99 on Lego then made it up with other things to over 50 quid. Had to ask to get the 2nd voucher as they weren't going to give me it at first till I asked.

Can confirm also, though as I was in a rush I asked straight up about the voucher saying I had seen the tv advert for £25 Lego and the advert for £50, lady said straight away she thought that I'd get both then tried it, and issued both fine without needing anyone else to step in. Pretty good as not all the new city sets will eventually get discounted - I see the Coast Guard ship and cargo terminal being around for a while. I bought the ship which qualified for both offers.

Link above which details voucher on Argos website no longer works, try this one:

thanks for confirmations

The offer is only on lego in new catalogue, just got back and bought a load in clearance and they wouldnt give voucher.

The t's and c's don't mention it has to be Lego from the new catalogue - I'm hopefully picking up some clearance items later and will take a copy of these terms to show them if they don't give it automatically.

Hmmm, why doesn't that linky work?

And just seen that the banner states "Free £5 voucher when you spend £25 or more on all LEGO toys" - key word is ALL.

Suggest giving customer services a call or email and see if they will arrange a voucher to be sent to you.

Spent over £50, got one voucher only - apparently because minifigures are excluded from the deal.

Going to contact head office about it, due to the word ALL LEGO toys being included in the advertising.

Anyone ordered £25+ of new series minifigures (the ones in the catalogue, not clearance) only in the last day or two and received the £5 voucher???

groovy2012 - did you order any minifigures?

Haven't yet contacted head office about yesterdays missing £5, but went to another branch and ordered £56 of Lego (all different items to yesterdays but from the clearance) and the £5 for £25 didn't come up.

They called head office, ran through the items and they gave them the code to issue the voucher. Items included LOTR Attack on Weathertop £30 (a fair chunk of the spend), and the Monster Fighters Swamp Creature £3, Friends Scootor £3 and Star Wars Planets £6, plus some series 7 minifigures.

Couldn't issue the £5 from yesterday at that branch, so still have to get that one sorted out soon.

Did anyone manage to find out the expiry date for this offer?

According to their website, when I select some lego it is showing as 2 special offers, this would mean that it stopped and then started again pretty much immediately and is also running in conjunction with the 3 for 2 . I don't know if this is a mistake though, I've not tried it, none of the stuff that I want is in stock at the moment. I've pasted below the offers showing.

2 Special offers

1) 2 for 1 entry to Legoland Windsor resort with every Lego purchase collected in store, excluding mini figures. Offer ends 17 January 2014.

2) Free £5 Argos card when you spend £25 or more on Lego. Offer ends 27 August 2013.

Ok, an update on my voucher. But it's now vouchers - friend spent over £25 at another store, no voucher. When staff asked, they claimed there wasn't a £5 back on £25 spend...

So phoned customer services on Friday, they apologised and said I could take into any store to have then verified and £5 voucher issued. Today I went into my local and customer services looked at receipts, looked up promotion on their console and issued two £5 vouchers. Sorted.

I saw the details on the console - no mention that mini figures or clearance items are excluded. It does mention that it's being advertised in the new catalogue flyer - perhaps that is where the staff got the mistaken idea that it's only on items from the new catalogue.

So if you've been refused vouchers, pop in with the receipt and ask them to issue you a voucher.

Another update - spent a further £25+ on Lego and offer didn't come up. Paid part with previously obtained £5 vouchers and they tried to claim this was the reason why it hadn't triggered... that's now three different reasons they have tried to tell me why it hasn't issued a £5 voucher. They then checked for the terms as I told them that payment method shouldn't affect the issuing of a voucher, and they gave me the voucher no problems.

Top marks goes to Chatham Argos - they didn't have all the items I wanted in stock, so I bought 2 at the time and a manager there agreed that I could have a £5 voucher a week later when I collected the 3rd item that was ordered in at the same time. He wasn't there when I went back, but it didn't cause any problems. Very good customer service.
