I have asked amex to clarify if it must be 2x separate transax with 2 different retailers or if you could spend 2x £25 with the same retailer to get this offer

FYI...I can confirm that my Virgin Atlantic Amex is valid for the deal....so doing my first gap purchase now

Good i can get £50 worth of stuff free then on my gold amex thanks op

I read this as spend £25 get £25 back but it's spend £50 to get £25

Beat me to it!

I think its 25 x 2 at two different retailers. So spend 100 and get back 25. But, I guess, its better to get a clarification.

Got this e-mail too and was going to share.
I usually get gift cards when its the in store offers. Not sure if you can get gift cards for online purchases for these retailers
Heat up

Got the email, have 3 different Amex cards so very happy with this deal.

Heat added.

I think I will get 2 x £25 gift cards as don't really need anything from any of these companies at the moment.

Annoyingly PC World/Currys don't do £25 vouchers, £30 is the nearest.

Deal needs changing though as it is quite misleading as it stands

So you have to spend £25 or more twice at two of the stores listed on two separate occasions.

Example.
Currys £25 spend.
PC World £25 spend.
Total £50 Spending.

You get £25 credited to your statement.

has anyone confirmed that we can buy gift cards? Would seem a decent loophole But wouldnt be surprised if they are not included

Currys do gift cards in £20 or £30...but PCWorld do a £25 one...so only have to spend £5 more than required

Should be ok to buy gift cards, its an online purchase and in the past with these amex offers (Harrods and House Of Fraser) it was possible to buy gift cards in store.

PC World and Currys should count as 2 separate retailers as they have their own website. PC world do £25 vouchers, Currys don't, £30 would be next best to go for.

good as in store they'd both be usable in same transaction as stated above there are technically the same store even though they have separate online portals

Ive used these deals before with my Amex. Usually a £10 off a £25 spend. So far its worked 100% and almost instant on the account.
I even returned items back to one store but the £10 credit stayed in my account.

Great offer, cheers OP

You can get a £10 and £15 giftcard from Currys.

currys and pcworld gift cards online are sold through currysgiftcards.co.uk, not currys.co.uk or pcworld.co.uk so they will not be eligible for the Amex offer

Sounds about right. I don't think the 'Giftcard' route is going to work this time...

Bit confusing reading the comments, I had the email and read it as spend £50 total (£25x2) across 2 different stores and get £25 credit so essentially £25 free for £50 spend?

Excellent! Love AMEX, got the gold rewards with a year free with the intention of cancelling because I though £120 was steep, but for the service you get it really isn't!

Excellent, will look into this thanks OP

nice jus gotta see waht to get

Wonder if it would work with the Debenhams gifts cards? I could get some and then use them for Christmas gifts nearer to the time.

Anyone want to try?
Thing is, surely it just depends on what the actual monetary transaction goes through as on your statement - for example, if Amex expect "Curry's online" and both the currys.co.uk and currysgiftcards.co.uk put their online card transactions through as such...
Seems they charge postage as well for gift cards.

Alternatively, buy anything for £25, and return in store for gift card credit instead of a refund to your Amex card

If you can't find anything, this deal makes the Karcher window vac WV50 only £14.99 if you buy something from another participating website

amex gold
£60 quidco for applying
£100 in vouchers (PCWorld for me ) for £2000 spend
two airport lounge visits (HKG & LAX)
£20credit for £8spend at sunglass hut
and now this one happy days

on the website it says its powered by Voucherline.com, don't know if that would make any difference?

also not sure if the order number will be flagged as being refunded regardless of what method of refund you have, i tried this at Argos with the lloyds offer and got stung

I wouldn't try if I were you. Don't think it will work.

But buying something and returning for a gift card is a good idea. I'd go with that if you're desperate for the gift card.

cool and pc world and currys are counted as different right? So I could buy £60 steam credit (2x£30 one at each) and then get the £25 statement credit meaning the steam credit cost me £35?
Edited by: "badasschris" 22nd Jul 2014

Anyone know if delivery would be taken into account with the £25 spend?
ie £20 t shirt and £5 delivery?
