Not on mine or the Mrs Amex Preferred Rewards Gold card. Shame as was looking at the BA sale. Pretty sure theres a standard Reward point per pound spent with BA on an Amex.
As this is direct reward of Avios, maybe its only on the BA Amex card

This is actually very good!
Cheers - got it on my fee free BA Amex card.

it is on my BA Amex , just in time
Not on mine either

3000 Avios is worth about a tenner these days, think last months £50 back was the better offer and I had that one, had already booked elsewhere though

You should be able to cancel within 24h and rebook if you want to go through the hassle
Can a New Cardholder get this offer? I’m looking at getting an AMEX

In my experience (with the Amex Cashback Card), you don't see any offers available until your first statement.

If you were looking to get the BA Amex card, you can get 5,000 Avios by joining and spending £1000 in the first three months. There's also a premium version of the card where you can get 25,000 Avios by spending £3000 in the first three months but you'd also have a £195 annual fee I think but you get 1.5 Avios for every £1 spend.

The Amex Preferred Rewards Gold card gives 2 points per pound when spent with BA.
Not on BA Premium Plus

You need to be more careful where you spend them. Should be able to get 0.8 - 1p per avios, so the offer is worth about £25.
Having just spent £700 on flights with BA I am pleased to report that this offer is not showing on my Platinum Cashback!

Was checking the same :-)..but flights are a now £100 costlier...not worth it.
Like other Amex offers it probably works with cumulative spend. It did with the £50 off £250 Hilton spend.

More like £30, general valuation banded around these days is 1p a point.

18400 avios gives me a £100 discount on a flight, so 0.005435p per avios?
Which makes 3000 is worth £16.30 to me (ok, a little more than my tenner guesstimate, sorry )
not sure if you get more miles for your money depending what flight/route you’re taking, this was just a quick look at a flight/service I use.

I could argume that Avios are in theory worthless when used for their intended/primary purpose?
example being, I’m away next month, flying with BA and booked online, but not directly with BA.
The cost of my flight was less than the cost of the same flight booked direct with BA even after spending my avios (the same flight is currently £200 more than I paid so still £100 more with my avios, I know that’s now and not then, just saying as I was looking anyway)

it’s also worth remembering that avios have a shelf life of 3 years, which seems like a long time but really isn’t, we “lost“ 30000 avios last year!
I didn’t realise that if you have a household account, each member has to be actively collecting/spending, not just the head of the household?
I was ok as I fly more than the other half/kids, they have flown but on other airlines as it’s been more cost effective at the time (it’s been a better price even after any avios discount ) but you then forget you’ve not flown BA and consequently your avios expire?!

I remember the “good old days“ when you could get proper paper airmiles and bonus airmiles and 10% extra airmiles vouchers all printed on paper, not a single use plastic in sight!

So what, where or when should I be using me avios on please??
Just spent over 300 on ba earlier this month, if I save the offer in my card now do I still qualify?

Avios are useful if you live anywhere it's cheap to get to a London airport. If you do then Europe reward flight savers can be amazing value. Otherwise on longhaul I find the taxes far too high to make it cost effective, and the airline itself pales in comparison to other airline service.
Where points can still be amazing value is Hotels. I've stopped bothering with avios etc and now focus on collecting hotel points instead. Many redemptions have zero of single digit taxes.

When you trade in your Avios it's not a linear relationship. The more you trade in for a cash discount the less value you get for them.

RFS is good use of them as is UUA (I went from J to F on a flight to KUL for 31,500 Avios - about £300 worth, when the cash difference between the fares was about £1,500)

If you use those free 3k avios towards a full avios BA First Class flight then it's value is far higher. Use this inconjunction with the Amex 241 voucher for max value in First Class.

couldn’t find a first class seat on a route I would use, but a business class seat returned 0.00663p per avios, so yes they are worth more
have looked at the Amex 241 thing, but the £10k pa spend would be difficult to achieve for me as half the places round her don’t take Amex

Then diversify with your credit cards, got one or more Visa / MC loyalty point earning cards and then transfer points to avios.

would that work towards the Amex spend?
thought the Amex 241 and the avios were separate entities?
By using other hotel loyalty cards that are not Amex, you can transfer over those points to avios. This won't obviously help you acheive the 10k spent required on the Amex.
Try paying all your bills by Amex, council tax, energy etc and use PayPal to pay for items online linked to the Amex.
