Noticed someone posted a deal for these R2 units from ebay. These are only 4p cheaper, but the ebay ones mentioned that some items they sell are seller refurbs. I also don't think they offer 2 years guarantee.

Are these different from the ones home bargains sell for £29.99?? I bought my son one for Christmas, clearly not a fan coz he’s nvr played with it. Binned the instructions & have no idea what it does.
Not voting op..... just asking a question thx

Yes, a lot different. Thd Homebargain's ones were basically simple, poor quality rc R2 units made by (or distributed by) Hasbro. These Sphero ones can do much more and are better built (e.g. they have treads rather than small wheels to trave much better on surfaces other than tiled floors), they can interact with some of the Star Wars movies (chirping and whislting at various scenes), they can patrol your house (like a robo vac, but without actually vacuuming), you can program it to do all sorts of things like beep or flash when you get a text message.

There's a pretty thorough review here slashgear.com/sph…43/
Love Sphero products, but always worth waiting. This started off at £179.99!!! I picked up the Sphero Spiderman from JL last month for £44.99 down from £150
