I bought the original BB-8 version when it first came out. I remember hunting high and low for it, calling up local toy stores, and the Disney Store, but they had all sold out and didn't know when they were getting stock in. I did manage to get one from Curry's for £120 if I remember correctly.

They are a fantastic toy, at least for a short while, my BB-8 hasn't been charged up and played with for probably over a year now, but they are immense fun at the start. Yet, I find myself wanting to buy this, I'm envisaging racing the pair of them around the house...

Dammit HUKD, you're supposed to help me save money...

Not a lot-waste of money imo.

It’s a toy, folks. It’s not going to provide the answer to life’s meaning. If you have kids, buy it because it’s a good price. If, like me, you like Star Wars, buy it because it’s a good price. If neither of those, don’t buy it, save your money for whatever hobby you are interested in, and move on.

Everything
We was toying with the notion of getting one of these in Nottingham John Lewis on Black Friday, I think they were £120 or maybe even £130 at the time so this is a great deal.

I know they're very clever and yet another cool wee gizmo to have round the house but I am trying to convince myself we don't need it to save some dough.

Yes its a toy, but at £100, its an expensive toy that doesn't do that much (moves around and makes noises using your phone/tablet).

Unfortunately, get Sphero to make it, package it all nicely and stick the name "Star wars" on it, and thats why its the price it is. If £100 isnt a lot if money to you, and dont mind that your kids will probably play with it for probably an hour (if you can get it to pair with your phone), then go for it. But for a whole lot less, you can get a whole lot more.

If you can't get it to pair with your phone you'd return it wouldn't ya

My kids are 17 and 22, whilst the missus's kids are 22 and 25, so wouldn't be interested in the slightest and don't even live with us anyway so not feeling that argument either

We spent over 200 quid on taxis and drinks going to the company Christmas do the other night so I would just put it out there that it puts in to context the value of a one'r in the year 2017 I know a hundred quid is a hundred quid but it's hardly the princely sum it was two or three decades ago is it?
Nice! I was going to buy then noticed the original BB-8 was down to £70 on Amazon so bought that and a force band for £30 quid instead! >.< Poor wallet
if you have my John Lewis you can get a £5 voucher back as well
They were selling the oringal bb8 one for £45 at toys r us the other day with the band, brilliant price if you can find stock!
Nevermind, gone back up to £100!

I checked earlier, you can use the trainer from this BB 9E set on the standalone BB 8 which is making that 70 quid addition all the more appealing on this firm which is because of.....

Yeah damn you again @ReviewChimp putting ideas in our heads of racing droids round the kitchen floor, Mrs Loyal who usually cxnxs me right off for buying 'stupid' things is on it and wants me to pull the trigger on the 70 quid Amazon BB 8 too for that very purpose now!
