Though homecoming was garbage. Felt like it was aimed solely at 12 year olds while the others all had a darker edge and a better less annoying Spider-Man too.

Haven’t seen this one, might catch it eventually, it absolutely has to be better tho.
saw this at cinema - it was pretty good.

Homecoming was great because of the excellent Michael Keaton's Vulture. Again, the baddie Mysterio stole the show.
On a par I think - both had positives AND plenty negatives - a LOT of the lesser characters in both were awful - I can't get away with attractive Aunt May for starters - Ned and "Flash Thompson" were both good though, and the Shocker bloke was underused in Homecoming

This is better by a tonne when you consider Iron man isn’t in it, as Robert Downey Jnr has a huge input in the movies.

Jake Gylenhall is fantastic, plays his role perfectly!

Yeah considering when Marisa Tomei was flashing her jugs in Mickey Roukes face not too long ago!

Aunt May should have been old and MJ casting is way off the mark.

Agreed, although fairs fair - I wasn't happy about the casting for MJ either (I wasn't happy about Kirsten Dunn as MJ either to be honest) although she wasn't too bad in Far From Home, but the young Aunt May is a colossal irritation that isn't going away

I can't help but feel like Holland's (or more accurately the director's) take on Spider-Man is to have his Spider-Man and his Peter Parker to be too similar personality-wise. What makes Spider-Man interesting imo is the contrast between 'nerdy' PP and 'cool' Spider-Man and the drama that comes from it.

IMO, Holland does a good Peter Parker. Garfield did a good Spider-Man and Maguire did a great (albeit not perfect) mix of both.

They need a young May because, let's face it, she's gonna be doing this for a while.

Is that why he was so sad in Iron Man 2?

Agreed. The lads who play Ned and Flash were great after I wasn't happy with the choice. Flash especially is nothing like the athletic gingery blonde bully in the comics. But the lad playing him makes it work. The blonde girl in it, "Betty Brant" even here they get it opposite of comics - is a major character in the comics and ridiculously underused in movies - and she's dark brown haired in the comics. But she shows promise. MJ far better than I expected. The rest though.......
By the way. "Dmitri" a toady in the film, driving the schoolbus under orders from Fury - in the comics, Dmitri becomes a Spidey baddie - The Chameleon. PLUS......he's the brother I think of Kraven the Hunter......

She would have tamed those electric whips
They changed a lot of the casting ideas coz people were sick of being told the same story over and over including myself
I do think they should go back to his origin story a little though, maybe introduce a villain that isnt connected to stark etc and just has a personal connection with peter

I love Jon Watts tone to these movies the only other one i like which is one of my all time superhero faves is Spiderman 2
Never rented through iTunes before, got the Apple TV app on my new Samsung tv, does anyone know if I rent it and watch through the app if it will be 4K?
