I said the same thing up until last month.
Already had 58 HD TV with ps4.
But Mrs bought me a xbox one (that's 4k) with the Lego movies and few others which I have on bluray ray. Have to say if it's pure entertainment then yes it is worth it (OK maybe not on these older spider man films) but definitely the way forward. Won't buy a new bluray again, 4k from now.

I have a 56inch 21:9 tv that is about 9 years old, its still going strong however would love a new 77 inch oled. Issue is I have a 2 year old who loves to drive his cars over my tv now. Not an issue with an old tele but a £6k oled no thanks !!

I've watched a few things on 4k, it looks good up close but sitting 7 feet away its hard to tell. The real draw for me is the HDR.

In my experience, going from Blu-ray to 4K was okay. Few films look a bit better but most are meh.

(Notable exception is the Nolan batman trilogy which has scenes filmed using IMAX cameras and look STUNNING in 4k)

However, getting an OLED TV made a *much* bigger difference to my viewing experience than any 4k content ever did
