How easy is it to install?

All taps are really easy...

- Turn off your main water supply
- Drain the water by turning a tap on
- unscrew the tap tails (hot and cold flexible hoses) and remove bottom screw from original tap
- put new tap in place putting the rubber washers in the right places
- connect tap tails, personally I hate PTFE tape and always use Jointing Compound, If you buy this make sure it's for potable (drinking) water. Ie screwfix.com/p/f…548 This will last a DIYer forever so maybe buy a smaller tube. Just rub it on the thread and screw it on. I've never had a joint leak with this stuff.

You need to use waterproof tape or silicone to prevent the water leak out”

Some Chinese fake version. Stick with the Aldi one with 5 years warranty.

I look forward to my delivery.
For anyone who already has this from last year, what is the quality like? Does it feel sturdy like a Grohe or Franke tap?
Thanks

Couple of HUKD’er have commented above having no problems whatsoever since they have had over a year ago.

Seems like a decent quality tap.

Great. Thanks for sharing !
my wife hates this style of tap, thx just ordered
Bought one of these about 9 months ago, found it in the clearance bit all taped up for £25. Brought it to the till and the manager gave it me for £10 as it looked like there were a few things missing and box was ripped etc. Got home and everything was there. Think its about 12 or 14 pieces. Fitted it and its given no problems. Bargain. Heat anyway its a decent tap lol

No, water flows when tap is switched on. The button is to change the spray mode.

Have the same one from Aldi for 1+ years, no problems so far.

You are gonna be in some trouble mate
I have a similar tap to this which we paid way more for a few years back - the button functionality has gone so we can't manually switch between the spray and constant flow anymore, but this is all housed on the "tap bit" that screws off from the rest of the assembly. Does anybody know what that "tap bit" is called/referred to or better still does anybody know an online place where I can buy these parts separately from? If not, I see no option but to buy this one which looks pretty nice. Thanks.
No problems with mine, great purchase for the money.

That seems like an Australian version. UK has very strict customs and lead checks
I'm a bit of a novice with these things, can someone help me - does the following mean it can't be used at all with my kitchen sink (with hot water being provided by my hot water tank + boiler system)?

"Suitable For
Continuous flow heaters. (Not suitable for low pressure systems and water boilers)"

One of the HUKD’er installed himself. I’m going to give it a go once it arrives. Need to make sure I turn water supply off first.

It is exactly the same brand and model. Do you seriously think they have 2 versions one thats got no lead and fine in the UK and one that is full of lead that they just give to Australians? Are you delusional?

The article is off dailymail.co.uk

Plus I can't see Aldi making two different versions of the exact same looking tap

Anyway not worth risk for me at the end of the day

article says test show it has x21 more greater than the required amount of lead in it!
Save yourself the lead poisoning and get a decent brand for around the same price.

That article is from December 2017 for products sold until June 2017 (so over a year ago). I’m no way defending Aldi but you would expect UK Custom standards to be all over it for the new batch due to be released this Thursday !

What can I say.... each to their own !

Thanks OP ordered, the switch on our Grohe one has gone and only lasted 2 years, I don't see the point in spending £300 again. This will do nicely.
Ordered. Heat!

I reckon these are the exact ones made to sell in Australia but have been rejected

So they have just shipped them here to sell off in the UK!

Like u say each to their own
