I was advised against getting "no name" taps with ceramic inserts as, apparently, it can be very difficult, if not impossible, to source replacement inserts. So, if it starts to drip, the whole tap may need to be replaced. I don't know whether this is correct or not - but the guy was a plumber so I guess that he knows what he is talking about.

Bought one of these from Aldi about a year ago for the same price (I think both Aldi and Lidl do the same brand / product). All I can say is that the product is superb. Absolute bargain for the money and absolutely no issues one year on!

Grrrrrrrrrrr

It comes with a 5 year warranty. Even if you have to replace it after that, it's cost you circa £10 per year! I think that is well worth going for?!

Does the warranty cover the insert? I couldn't find the answer for these taps, but did find this: All products carry a 15 year guarantee (with the exception of shower hoses and cartridges, which carry a 12 month guarantee)

Wow, that's a fab price
Can't see it in description- but can anyone please tell me how high it stands from the sink please?

Ooo, quite fancy one of these

Sunday 14th.

Whilst I haven't had this tap, I did buy a previous mixer tap from Aldi and had it installed by a plumber. That one too said easy fitting and suitable for high pressure systems and according to the plumber, it was not an easy fit. It was one of those pull out taps and never did retract without forcing it.

However, the main issue was the High Pressure systems bit. I wasn't aware that our system was 'low pressure' and other mixer taps work ok but from experience of this other tap, you had to adjust the tap by nanometres as it went from boiling hot to literally freezing cold in fractions of a millimetre. I am so glad I replaced it and now can have warm water.

As I say, this may not apply to this tap which is a different model to the one I had, but I would never buy a cheap Aldi tap again. As my plumber said, you get what you pay for in taps.

Not voting cold as I haven't had experience of this tap but just a warning.....

lidi are selling similar at moment for 29.99. But theirs are extendable ones

Didn't know Aldi sold this kinda stuff... whats the quality like??

got one of these 1-2 years ago - think it was from aldi but may be from lidl. great tap. replaced the one i had when i first installed the kitchen which cost about £400!!. we are very happy with its quality and function.
btw - some of the expensive taps are impossible to source parts for too - as we found out.

The ceramic valve insert should last for years, no? Thought that was the point of then over normal washers etc?

I'd like to know this too. I've looked in to a few of these for a while now but they've always been too tall as we have limited space in that area due to having a cupboard right next to the sink.

^ yep, I've looked at a few and they've been v v high

...Now, if only someone would be kind enough to put the pair of us out of our misery by answering this question- I'd be v greatful!

I will be interested in height as well. Can a previous owner please share.

Picked one up this morning & just fitted it. Quality seems reasonable though it's physically impossible to follow the instructions.

Stands around 500mm heigh.

though it's physically impossible to follow the instructions..

So any tips then:)

We bought one and hubby fitted it yesterday, seems a good tap, looks nice. It is replacing a £200 Franke tap that kept leaking so we gave up with it.

Hi
I fitted this last night to replace our broken tap. Yes the instructions are wrong. They tell you to hand tighten the two long bendy pipes into the bottom of the taps BUT if you do that the big nuts at the other end don't fit through the other bits. So what you do is thread the bendy metal pipes trough the plastic locking nut, metal washer, rubber washer then clear plastic triangle and poke pipes up though hole in sink and then hand tighten into tap. On the tap side, you first screw in the threaded pipe and then chrome washer ring before attaching metal pipes. Hope that makes sense!
Nice taps though. Says they have inbuilt filter that should be changed every 2 years too!

Does anyone know the brand? Bought this 16 months ago and the button has gone on the front and is stuck on one setting. Can't find the brand to get in touch?

Brought the spiral mixer tap over 18 months ago, great tap apart from 4 months ago the button that changes the water from normal to spray broke and there is no way of fixing it . If anyone knows the brand it would be helpful.
