Voting on this one confirms there are too many people with money to burn …Voting on this one confirms there are too many people with money to burn but no taste! When did they design these: 1963?

No 1938 actually hence the very old tree style.

I don't know why many on here are slagging this off. If you don't like the design fair enough, just move on. You don't have to deride it or anyone that does like it. We've had these for years. Many of ours are seconds and we love them. Sure we only use them for about 5 weeks in a year but hey that's our choice.

Voting hot even though I don't need anymore items. The only thing we lack are really big mugs but the only ones left have daft handles.
I love Christmas
I know they are cheap but my god they are minging!

That's what I was thinking. May be hand made or whatever but still looks like £1 tat shop stuff.

4 plates, 4 side plates and 4 mugs for £200. Am I missing something or is this a super high quality brand I've never heard of?

Yes Spode is a very well known and respected high end brand since 1770 Wiki link Dinner plates on offer in Dunelm are £16.50 each not in this design though. They are famous for this type of design? They are now £38.36 delivered reduced from £200 so its a great price at £3.20 a piece.

Hadn't voted yet so now I'll for hot. Guess I'm more interested in what goes on the plate than the plate itself!

Now there's a thought - are claiming copyright?
If still made in England, 50% off plus 20%, then good deal, back in the days when you get 50% off of most famous porcelain made in England.

Now since 2006, these Christmas Trees ones are made abroad, so 80% off hypothetical English pricing scheme is a hollow deal in my opinion. It has lost its Englishness. Spode since 1770 wiki is not for this . This is Spode Malaysia or China since 2006.

These ones no good - quite big at 12 fluid oz / 340ml? spode.co.uk/spo…tml
We bought some of this a few years ago. We're lucky enough to live close to a factory shop. We paid 10p for plates, 10p for cups and saucers and 20p for platters. The quality was pretty bad though - definitely not firsts or seconds. Think they might be thirds if there is such a thing!
Obvs at the deal price yours will be much nicer!

Hmmm if something like this is £38.36 delivered reduced from £200 then they clearly were taking the piz with their original price as I'm sure they're still making decent profit at current price.

These plates are the same sort we used to smash at village fetes years ago at the smash the plate stall
Just had a message from PayPal informing me that I have been refunded by the company but no email from company to confirm my order has been cancelled... it would appear that they are not sending me the goods then.

Many times people are taken in by an unrealistic manufacturers RRP, which is nothing more than a marketing device meant to be heavily discounted - they never were £206 and you can buy this set on Amazon for £53.94, still a lot more than this deal, but a more realistic normal selling price

It would appear it is a super high quality brand you've never heard of - why not google it and find out about it before posting?

I love Christmas

It’s refreshing to hear someone say that.
It’s fashionable to pretend not to like Christmas nowadays. Or getting annoyed about seeing Christmas things in September.
Buying things from September up until December is a great way to spread the cost and make things more comfortable financially.
Christmas shopping in September!

Exactly. Designed in Stoke on Trent and made outside the UK. China?
