When is there *never* a SportsDirect "SALE"???

They must have the same marketing dept as DFS

They have had "closing down sale... " for the last 5 yrs... now thats what I call beating the recession.. :P

They also don't seem to have the best stock control system.

For example I ordered 7 items off them last week, and 4 have now been cancelled off the order as they are not available.

Had I known that less than half the items were in stock, I wouldn't have bothered paying for delivery, and would have ordered elsewhere.

They did send me an outsized Sports Direct branded mug for nothing - which was nice!

Same here. The things i wanted were not in stock. The things i bought to make up the order for free delivery were, but didn't fit.

I had to pay postage back and ended up with nothing. :x

They have the worst customer service I think I have ever experienced. They only have an E-Mail address to contact them and no phone number, which they don’t respond to very well. I ordered a pair of trainers and after 4 attempts to get the right size and the right style they gave up and refunded me. I would not touch these people despite what looks like cheap prices. :x

Hey! Don't knock them!
They have to pay as much as 25p to have this stuff made!
I wouldn't buy from this mose even if he got Newcastle back in the Premiership and we came top in the 1st season!!!

Mike Ashley is the spawn of the devil just look at my avatar for proof!

They put the reduced price labels on in the Factory, there was a programme on recently up here in the North East about Mike Ashley who owns Sports Direct.

I wouldn't have even contemplated buying anything from one of his shops as I support Newcastle and aren't particularly happy at how he's been running the club, but I decided to buy some Lonsdale boxer shorts, 2 for £3 and I'm more than happy with them and the delivery was very quick too.

Sports Direct Sale?

You mean Burbery caps and chav trackie bottoms on discount?

sportsdirect.com/pou…014

No thanks.

Chavtastic, I can't think of anywhere I'd less like to buy my clothes.

Still, they're cheap, so have some heat.

I purchased a sledge from them a couple of weeks ago. I ordered on a Saturday night and it was delivered on the Monday. No complaints here!

After the mess up with the lions shirts that me and alot of people ordered I would avoid this store!
They didn't apologize for why they messed up the order or even reply to any of the emails I sent!

Usual tat then! Sorry I know their stuff is cheap but I dont like shopping in these stores. Its like a big jumble sale, no organisation, the staff are all 15/16 years old with attitude and the que is always mile long at the checkout. No please or thank you either!

I voted cold BTW!

I just had to register and comment on this.
They sent me an item 14 months ago with parts missing, after finally getting a reply from customer services after
about 6 emails they agreed to pick up and refund(£72) ...14 months on no refund, they stopped responding and still have a useless item.
I have even sent multiple emails to their directors and all other contacts I can find for them, no reply, hope they burn in the recession.
Bunch of thieves would never go near them again!

The garments have the 'Up To 70% Off' labels attached at the factory, along with the marked down price!

Are they not supposed to have been on sale at the higher price somewhere?

Why on earth did you leave it that long :? A warning of small claims and a report to trading standards would have had that sorted ages ago.

What they could do and this is what DFS do, DFS do have the "sale" items available, but only technically, they have them available for sale from their order books at the bumped up price, you don't see them on the shop floor, or the internet, however they are still available for sale, whether you know they are or not..............They may have the token sofa out at one of their stores, as long as it has been available at said price in the company, it's allowed.

Then they get brought out as a super sale item at every store............

With SPORTS DIRECT it's better to stick to using their stores (You get cashback via Quidco in the shop) than the mess that is mail order. !!!

I went to the one at oxford circus and they had an emplooyee with a megaphone:
NIKE BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE
REBOK BUY 2, GET ONE FREE

constantly, over, and over, and over again.

Theres some good bargins "under 2 quid"

sportsdirect.com/sal…uid

they start at a fiver

CRAP, CRAP, CRAP only fit for chavs and idiots- wouldn't be seen dead in overpriced 2nd rate merchandise that Sport Direct or M&M sell.

I have been waiting 2 week for 2 pairs of crocs to arrive.they eventually replied to my email saying they were out of stock.so I replied asking when were they going to tell me this and I will never use them again now

Thanks, picked up some cheap Asics.. lets hope they arrive!

I think this company stinks!

I disagree. The stores will not have have many of the sale items you see on the website. Here's how I play it and I've ordered loads of stuff from the website...... I place an order for genuine sale goods at great prices (e.g. Nike Laser 2 FG football boots for £25, down from £120 which really is the real rrp. Also selling for minimum £50 on ebay). If I ever have any problem (which I haven't fortunately) or if the size/fit is out, I take the item to the store in town (to save postage) and get a credit note. Said credit note is then used instore as and when needed..... This strategy works well for me.

I agree that their stock control is not the best but it's not such a big deal as you're not paying for what you don't get. As already mentioned, I've ordered lots of things from the website and only occasionally has stuff been out of stock. If you order over £50 (which I usually do), you get free delivery and if out of stock item(s) bring the order price below the free delivery threshold, they rightly won't charge you for delivery... it'll still be free so I really don't see a big problem.

Mate, you should get off your high horse. There's some top stuff that can be had when it's at clearances prices at both these retailers.

You can't move for bleached blondes, gasping for a fag in their pink velour tracksuits....

They are under investigation for using cheap immigrant labour so it may be a real closing down sale.
You can bet that's where the money has gone from Newcastle. The premiership might just sink them.

good luck with that

I would never deal with this crap company again.

I placed an order, paid for it, received an email thanking me for placing the order.
3 days later I receive an email cancelling the order due to no stock.

Surely they must be in breach of contract.

I am going to contact trading standards to see how I stand.

I wouldn't buy a packet of smarties from this lot.
