Which forums??

Also it's NUS Extra...not just NUS. A normal NUS hardly gets you anything these days.

nus cards can be for nhs workers too, let me google. ah well nus extra came up, its £12 a year.

i hate students anyway!, skinny legged floppy haired things they are

I bought an NUS Extra card specifically for this deal about a year ago. A £12 outlay for a £60 annual saving is definitely a good deal, but a word of caution for anyone thinking about doing the same: the card cost me £12, but it is NOT FOR A YEAR. As far as I can tell, it is until the end of the academic year because I bought mine in May 2012 and the expiry date was August 2012!! Was pretty miffed at the time, but at least the Spotify discount is good for the full 12 months and is still active on my account.

EDIT: Ignore that, apparently they've changed it now so you get the whole 12 months irregardless of when you signed up (thanks to Athia for the heads up)

Was he a nigerian prince?

I've never understood the big thing about Spotify and I never will..

Not really related to the deal, however Spotify's web player (beta) was released yesterday in the UK (you don't need to download anything). Good for people who are away from their computer and are not a premium member

How do I get this deal I'm not a student thanks

They changed this recently so it's now a full 12 months.

I just downloaded a hacked torrent 6 months ago and never had a problem

Is there any point using Spotify over Grooveshark?

Grooveshark seems to have a much bigger library as well as no ads for free users (only on screen, no audio)

or am I missing something?

Thanks

Isn't Grooveshark infringing copyright?

So you downloaded a hacked version of Spotify and now can listen to all the tracks you want without ads (essentually having premium for free)?

After the 12 months does it go back up or do you have the chance to enter another student card?

I never had to enter another student card number, my discount kept continuing.

You're clearly ill informed as all of the Telia Partnerships have been patched. So your account won't show premium for much longer if it still does!

Might go for this when my Music Unlimited subscription runs out in December.

Ah cool, thanks. Might get another one now that I know it'll last more than 4 months!

Not a new discount, plastered all over the NUS extra website, and it was in NUS emails and Facebook campaigns. BUT a very good offer nonetheless.

Just to let you know, you don't even have to be a full time student to get an NUS card. I'm in full time work as a trainee actuary and am able to get the NUS Extras card, brilliant for spotify and also saved me £200 on my snowboarding trip that I'm going on next week ('student' price)

I'm pretty sure I saw all the accounting qualifications in there as well.. so if you're training in ACA, CIMA, ACCA or any other professional qualification, it's definitely worth having a look.

Also remember it gives you access to student discounts at lots of shops, cinemas, sports and a free cheeseburger/McFlurry with every McDonalds.

'McFlurry' is a good way of describing my bowel movements about an hour after eating that rubbish
