Got my brother this for his birthday I think last year, he says its really good for the money (or last years model was) and probably worth in the region of £80-£100

Well Spotted OP

I've been tempted to get one of these for a while if it was not for the fact that my Mrs would roll her eyes indefinitely if I came home with one I would buy it at that price

Better buy than the pathetic astronomical scopes that have been posted lately, and might even get some use. The optical quality might be a bit of a gamble, though, and zoom eyepieces are generally not as good (optically) as a couple of fixed magnification ones that you can swap.

You beat me to it. Was about to post

Would this be any good for spying on the neighbours?

I thought that was it's primary function........Psst is your neighbours fit?....useless without pics etc....

Great price, similar on Amazon are around the £50 mark....Hot from me!

Anyone know if this would be suitable for or any good for looking at the sky at night?

Now I just need a deal on a ghillie suit

It's the comments on here that brighten up the day. Some of the deals are crap, but some of the people are brill!!

Thinking of getting one of these for bird spotting, has anyone used one for this? and if so was it any good? I realise £20 isn't a lot to pay for a scope but would rather add that to a bit more money if it meant getting a better viewing scope.

Well that's what i am going to buy them for. If they are no good for viewing the night sky, I'll take them back.

I've no idea if these are suitable for that sort of thing, hence me asking, but there seem to be a lack of serious replies at the moment

I guess straight off you would need another tripod as this is too small to get underneath. not sure if the mini tripod can be removed and the telescope put onto a different stand.

Get some binoculars instead if you are starting out in astronomy. A decent pair of 10*50s from meade or bresser can be had for 25 quid.

does anyone know if this scope would be any good for connecting a digi camera to for take pictures

Always wanted one of these. Great price.

Had a go on one today in the shop incredible for the money. Really good quality.

Thanks for this, managed to pick one up this morning and very impressed with it.
Can anyone recommend a full height tripod to use with it?

Actually after seeing this in the flesh I bought one. For 20 quid on a decent tripod I reckon this could be ok for astronomy.

Has anyone managed to point this upwards and get some good use out of it?

Looks like people who have bought it have managed to find 'other uses' for it rather than point it at the sky

Might get one myself and try out some of these 'other uses'

I've just bought one, they are really good.
It's too cloudy/dark to see anything outside now but I'm quite impressed

It's focussed with a knob at the side and then you can rotate the eyepiece to get x20, x40, x60 magnification. Made by Optus in Germany.

I'm afraid mine are going back.
Went in to Lidl yesterday and saw some binoculars for £14.99 (not advertised on their website) which i got. Back home comparing the two, the bins have much better clarity, giving a brighter crisp image.
I always thought a spotting scope would be best, but these bins are amazing, so much so that i'll be getting a 2nd pair to keep in the car.
