I am not the greatest fan of some "Where is my subsidy?" farmers but deals like this are pushing the limits of what is socially acceptable. Just because the big boy supermarkets demand prices like this from farmers, more and more will go bankrupt and then watch milk and everything else rise.

sainsburys are selling 4 pints of milk for 75p so more milk for your money!

No wonder dairy farmers are considering stopping producing milk and swapping to different modes of farming. Big supermarkets driving the price down that low hardly worth the effort of producing it.

heard st ivel have gone bust? spotted this pricing last night when filling it :-)

St Ivel brand is owned by Dairy Crest (Country Life). Dairy Farmers of Britain went bust recently. There are now only three major producer/processors in the UK who supply all the supermarkets between them - Wiseman, Arla and Dairy Crest.

Thanks for the info. That seems a lot of work just to add a pic. I don't mean to be rude or ungrateful and I know sites like this wouldn't work if people didn't make the effort, but I don't really have time for doing that stuff. I'm got two children under 3!
