Welcome to HUKD gordon. I've added a price and retailer to the title which we usually try to show

£5.99 delivery charge [or] Free delivery on orders over £50.

Welcome from me too gordon_burns

now I am all for cheap brand guitars, I own several Vinatge brand ones myself and with a decent set up they can match the quality of ones £100-£200 pound more expensive..

but.... cheap random chinese factory guitars are a nightmare and there is nothing worse for a beginner than having a poorly setup guitar with sharp frets and an unplayable fretboard..

still, get it and take the guitar to be set up by a pro(£25-£35) and youll probably find you have a decent starter kit for your £75-£85 quid..

failing that if you can stretch the budget try a Yamaha, Vintage, possibly Silvertone..

To learn on guitar you need the crappest guitar in the world with the highest action - preferably acoustic. Why? Well if you really want to do it, you'll stick at it, and your hands will be mega-strong. And when you progress onto more professional guitars, your hands will take to it a lot better. Oh, and don't have lessons - they're for the sort of people who upload videos of themselves playing to youtube.

You can get a Fender Squier Strat for les than £90 - best guitare I have ever had and I have a real strat too costing 4 times that much as well as others. The action is fab, sound is brilliant - no problems at all.
It is a professional guitar at a starter price.

If I was after this where would I look? Sorry to be stupid, I don't know anything about guitars but was hoping to get something like this. Thanks.

I think this is a bit of a false economy, instead I would go for a 2nd hand Yamaha pacifica or squier strat off ebay for about £60, much better made and would last for a good few years

we got the black version off ebuyer (little more expensive) a few weeks ago & its great, he is getting on really well with it

Just about every music or guitar shop stocks Squier Strats, they are the Fender value brand made in the Orient.

Ooh I must take down my YouTube Pachelbel Canon effort now. I'm all embarrassed.

Never had a lesson though.

when you can play like this then pay good money for a decent strat....otherwise this is a great starter and if, as with most, you never quite make it past a few chords then you've only £40 wasted.

A fender squire is really just a bit of MDF turned into the shape of a guitar with FENDER printed on it to make people think wooo i have a fender, disguising the fact it is a pile o ****.
It might make a nice table, but i wouldnt want any child learning on one.

Calling a squire a Fender is like calling a Smart car a Mercedes

I get sooooooo many squires come into the workshop for setups and theyre all rubbish. You CANT do a proper setup on them and within a few months they are totally worn out as well.

At the end of the day, with instruments, you buy cheap, you buy twice or never again because its poor quality will put you off playing for life.

Sorry, no offense, but, that's rubbish and it could put people off getting their kids into music! And it's spelt Squier.

Some of the best guitarists in the world started out on cheap guitars and crummy amps. Tonewoods, action, fit and finish never got in the way of talent! This post is for a cheap and cheerful starter guitar and is a bargain! If my child said they wanted to play guitar I'd rather spend £40 and see how they get on than spend a fortune on something that might end up on fleabay 6 months later. Voted Hot!

a poorly set up guitar is harder to play, holding chords, playing notes, vibrato, hammer ons etc... are all harder to play on a poorly set up guitar..

some of the best guitarists in the world started out on cheap guitars this is true, but that cheap guitar would have probably been from a guitar shop and been set up, or they would have messed around with it themselves..

A ****** cheap guitar is perfect, once you master that piece of **** you should be able to play really well on a more expensive guitar.

If you can achieve this level of skill on your cheap guitar then you are one step closer to becoming the next Via,if you want to of course.

The bitter comes out better on a stolen guitar. Apparently.
