Get down to your local library, I found an excellent preserving book at our local.
Thank you, just looking for a hot deal for jars, fingers crossed some come up!
ordered .. thanks!
Good first post! Ordered thank you :-)
ordered thanks !
have had this for several years now, every year we go to a pyo farm and get strawberrys, rasberrys, seville oranges and one pans worth makes about 12-`15 jars of jams, marmalades etc, lasts the whole year
fantastic price

I like the River Cottage handbook on preserves (by Pam Corbin). There are a few jam and jelly recipes, but also many other different preserves you can have a go at. You only really need a couple of jam recipes, and just replace one fruit for another, checking whether you will have enough pectin. The onion marmalade in the book is absolutely delicious.
Great price: they've been hovering under £25 for a few weeks on amazon. Bought my second a week ago from Popcorn-UK @ £22.63, as a large batch seems to take disproportionately longer to reach setting point, plus any risk of a complete disaster is confined to a smaller amount.
I've been after one of these for ages but got put off because of the price. I then saw one in Wilko's for £20 (stainless steel too!) and bought that. Am hoping to hell it's going to be as good as Amazon's one.
The Wilko one isn't suitable for induction hobs, methinks. I plan to get a portable induction hob and let my marmalade steam away in the porch.
This is a great quality item - bargain price.
Now £29.70. Hope everyone got one in time
