if you dont own this already and have capable PC you MUST get it

Nice find

Was about to post this.

Great price for a great game, must buy at this price.

Heat added.

Absolutely AMAZING game. Had me hooked for months, so atmospheric.

The sequel Clear Sky was just a repeat of the best parts of the original, with better graphics and more linear.

The third part Call of Pripyat is out soon, I hope it's as good as the first one.

Only problem, I HATE STEAM. Get in CEX for £6, and trade in some other game.

By the way, if you want to really enjoy Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, then install this brilliant Texture Pack...

Great mod, fixes a lot. Complete system hog but reallly good.

Shame there is a cost to it now. Gametap were giving it away freely for a while.

Hot!
Downloading this, and the Mod. Cheers.

I've moved on to Clear Sky but this is still an awesome game and certainly worth it at this price!!!

Sounds good, hot

Great post, heat added. Game now downloading............I hope it does not take the projected 3 days!!

just started to play only an hour in and i love it! Its missing some polish that a company like EA would throw on it but it almost adds to the charm. Im currently getting wasted by some bandits at the rail road though.

Good find, already have STALKER, am currently playing through for a second time ... it's an intensely atmospheric game, and I can't recommend it enough. Even when patched, it's slightly buggy; so save your progress regularly, instead of just relying on quicksave.

It's got lots of Polish in it, and Russian! :prop:

If you are going to mod this then go for the oblivion lost mods. Moding stalker is easy. Make a back up and if it goes worng just swap the files back. The mods are amazing, everything from realism, to nuclear winter and Sim City themes.

Will this game work on my laptop? It meets all the other requirements just think that my graphics card will come up short, which is a shame!

really? I found it slow, boring and the way the character view swayed all the time as he was walking made me feel sick.

Can't see it being at all playable I'm afraid.

How about with an Nvidia 8600GT card?

I completed this on my old rig: Athalon 2800+, 2 gig ram, 6600gt. She managed to punch way above her weight for many years so a 8600 should handle it no problem at all.

Got a bit choppy in places and it wasn't the prettiest playing experience, but then it wasn't on my mate's mighty ninja pc either!

Humm might have a look at this to keep me going until COD:MW2 is out, could actually get me back on my gaming PC for a week or two. The old girl is probably feeling neglected since i got my PS3.

The game really needs to be modded to get the most out of it, most general mods that cut the swaying out and help you through the slow paced start.

All these Mod suggestions!

I was only referring to Complete 2009 Mod because it's the only one that vastly improves the graphics in the game, which now look a bit dated. People who just want to play the game don't need to know about every Mod out there.

Really wanted to get into this game but it crashed twice for me within about 10-20 mins of playing. Having heard of it's buggy reputation, put me right off. Do any of the mods help remedy this?

Yup. Get the patches to fix the biugs and mods to make the game even cooler (oblivion lost 2) Only takesa few minutes and works a treat.

I play this game almost everyday online.

The 945 chipset means a GMA 950 graphics core.

The minimum specs are a Geforce 3/Radeon 8500 so, unusually, it may run. I don't know if it'll be smooth enough to play though.

Wonder how well this would play running Windows in VirtuaBox on a macbook pro with and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory, 2Gb RAM (to be upgraded to four at some point) and a or 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed. Also, 5400-rpm Serial ATA. Anyone have a clue if that'd work? I'm guessing if it does it'll be poor performance but for a few quid it's a worthwhile experiment, I suppose.

Glad I didn't read the comments first. I saw the price and just lept on it. I didn't have Steam before so this was a first experience for me using that. Everything went well. Game downloaded fast, worked first time. Played for a few hours without a glitch and I'm well chuffed for such a great game at this price.

Running on Windows 7 and I think it looks awesome but I'm still not caught up on the latest games so I assume the latest FPS's are looking even better.

Great deal, thanks for highlighting it

I'll have to get into this modding thing. Its ok to add mods even though its running through Steam?

Patch it to 1.6 then back up. so you can have a fall back when you experiment with adding mods. Easiest complete and all around best mod is oblivion lost.
