Standard Broadband and Unlimited Anytime Calls inc. mobiles £18.95 pm TalkTalk

If, like me you just want standard unlimited home broadband, but also need unlimited anytime calls to landlines and mobiles, I think this is a great deal. This includes line rental
Offer on for the next 12 days.
Fibre broadband also available with free calls

I can't find a better deal with cashback/prepaid cards etc that comes with the calls package, as I'm already with ee so it rules them out for me

EDIT:
You'll need to go to comparethemarket or access the link here broadband.comparethemarket.com/pro…ink.
HUKD are adding their affiliate link and you cannot get the same deal

Using 100mb speed on virgin media.17 is low.

And the prize for knowing that 17 is low compared to 100 goes to....

TalkTalk is utter rubbish
Why are they calling it fast broadband? 17mbs is standard..
Seems to be £8.50 extra for unlimited calls?
I think the link does not show the unlimited minutes but if I go through compare the market it seems to be there

TalkTalk is utter rubbish

That's their legacy. I had Tiscali (before it was TalkTalk), who were rubbish. Got TalkTalk after couple of years and they were rubbish too. There technical department is pathetic. The only thing they suggest in case of broadband issue is to restart the router.

SSE were also universally hated online for their landline and internet packages and if i'd paid any attention i'd have never signed up with them. I did and had zero problems in the 18 months i was with them.

So likewise, if i wasn't in a contract or was looking to change, I'd certainly be considering this offer.

It took openreach 4 attempt and 2 months to install my line. The problem is that your dealing with operators who's first language isn't English and have no direct contact with the engineer. Some would say this is the result of getting the cheapest provider however you should still be entitled to a decent service. Openreach where good when they finally installed getting a cherry picker 80 miles in 2 hours down to our unusual rurally challenging area and it's been good service since it was done. They won't give you a good renewal price so I'll be hopping backwards and forwards to Vodafone.

Likewise, everyone use to slag off ee broadband, but I have had nothing but great service with them in the last 3 years I have been with them. Would happily renew again with them, but they won't budge on the price, it's £25.50 pm with calls. I'll be saving nearly £80 over the next 12 mths with talktalk

rather bizarrely, i'm on that exact EE package at the moment

See I have to disagree, I have been with them for 9 years (my service has always been spot on) I find the customer service is crap, but I never need to call them.
I like TalkTalk.. Had standard internet for two years and now have Fibre. Never had a problem.

I find them much better than sky.
My sister-in-law took out a super cheap Talk Talk broadband/phone package about 18 months ago. I too had heard that TT were supposed to be utter rubbish but she's had zero problems with them.

Been with TT about 8 years, every time when my contract ended I asked for a deal and they never gave me one. Every single time I asked to speak to the loyalty department or the cancellation and every time I got a good deal. Do not speak to customer service, go directly to these departments or ask CS to put you to cancellation or loyalty. Did this 8 times and every time worked. I am now with Vodafone, almost at the end of contract and do not know what to do. Had lots of issues with TT, taking forever to fix things, now great broadband with Vodafone but they keep charging me more every month, so have to keep on eye on them and ring them to get my money back, this gets too much for me now.
Had talk talk for 8 years, and no issues. Faulty router and talk talk replaced with no issue. Can’t fault them.
Was with TT for 11 years, each time renewal of the service was a pain as Customer service were tough to deal with. Moved to BT last year. Looking forward to going back to TT in the summer. Only minor issues with the service in so many years which got resolved quickly.
Never had a problem with ADSL Talktalk. Customer services have been fine. Online chat is good speed and availability of service compared to the Virgin Media mob who I was last with very good. They have 4 million customers and are our only hope now that Openreach, BT Broadband, EE and Plusnet are all owed by one company and have 70% of the telecoms market. I thought that Ofcom announced that if the contract you take out with a Telecoms provider dosent do as its suppose to you can leave penalty free or did I dream that??
Rubbish provider, gng for Talk Talk is inviting trouble😏

You can leave but it is a bit difficult to proove your point. Usually you address the issue and they try to fix it. This is how I left TT, we were going in circles with the issue, they were trying to fix it but never worked. After 2 months of going in circles I rung them and told them I cancel my contract as it took to long and I am fed up. No issue, cancelled, sadly for them it seems the issue was finally solved, but too late, signed already the contract with Vodafone. Other way to do it is to wait for the email or letter with their price increase, all the providers slightly increase prices and you are entitled to cancel as you have signed for a different price.

Thanks for the tip ! I’ve been going round in circles with them since December so might just cancel now that I know I won’t be charged the exit fee - they’ve been absolutely rubbish
Been with TT for close to a decade without issues, but this year has been exceptionally bad and their tech team is an absolute joke with each new agent making me repeat the same bloody steps. Even when the issue is the same as before with previous diagnosis being a problem in the local green connection box. Can't wait to drop TT.
Looks like I'm in agreement with a handful. Been with them for 10+ years and have good deals with them, currently on fast fibre and cannot fault it. Customer service can be a bit hit and miss but I have always achieved the service or deal I expect, if not the first time I make sure I deal with someone who can help.
TalkTalk. Don't even think about it. The company operates with minimal staff. The UK staff are, pretty much, solely sales/retention (commission based) who will lie and lie and lie again, just to try and keep mug customers signed up, while not honouring any of their verbal (phone) agreements. Any installs work is carried out by Openreach. 'Technical' staff ('customer services' LOL) are overseas contracted numpties, programmed to read a computer screen, but have zero technical understanding. TalkTalk (or LieLie as they are better known) is like a double glazing company - the staff exist solely to extract cash, whilst the physical work is outsourced to contractors. In short, TalkTalk is a sham company. (Case in point: just look at their recent security lapses. Reason? They have no technical staff.) I wouldn't be a customer (again) even if they promised to pay me. Because I know it would be just another lie. TT - avoid at all costs.
I suppose in some areas they are better than in others. They are not good in my area - 8 years ago, they even offered me free standard BB for a year, which I refused for certain reasons I made known to them (some below). Never heard from them again.

I rather pay a little extra for good-excellent service. Had been with O2 from 2008-2013, who then moved our accounts to Sky when they closed. Have been with Sky ever since. That's 10 years of virtually trouble-free BB/Fibre, with excellent customer services from both companies the handful of times I've had to use them.

P.S. The only good thing I'll say about them, is that they've let me keep one of my Tiscali email addresses when they took over Tiscali several years ago. I was with Tiscali during the dialup days.

I have been on the end of an ADSL deal with talktalk it took me to disconnect my line and recontract as a new customer to get their best deal. I've got the first month's bill and it's already giving me 33gbp as their base price in April next year. I dearnt threaten canx it was bad enough getting my line on in first place. Voda have 50 cashback deal on and are 18 equivalent on Martin Lewis at the moment. I won't get that deal but it will be low twenties instead of low thirties, no I'm flipping back and forth between the 2 cheapest.

It's TalkTalk's policy that you can switch to any deal offered to new customers, as long as you have been with them for three months or more, so something isn't right here, I track mine regularly and the existing custoemr deal is always 50p cheaper than new customers.

Been with talktalk for nearly 20 yrs
Never ever once had a problem, in fact ive always been happy with pricing and customer service but apparently because youve had a bad time they are the worst ever hmm

A dataset of one is utterly useless to assess current positive or negative service levels of any provider. Some statisticians would mute that an existing customer who has experienced issues with a service is less likely to experience the same issue again, and so by default is less likely to experience issues than a new customer or other existing customer who has not experienced issues. All largely irrelevant, until the issue(s) affect the customer.
If this deal was £1 it would be £1 too much.

Its not a dataset of one though is it ? Lots of people on here have said they've never had a problem - and they outnumber the nay sayings - many of which it seems have never actually been with them. Like the majority I've been with them 10+ years and had excellent service at a good price.
Based on what ? Have you been with them and had a bad experience you'd like to share ? Or just groundless perception from the media ?

If this deal was £1 it would be £1 too much.

Was with talktalk for a couple of years, but as soon as I had an internet issue the problems started. I spent many hours on the phone being passed from one dept to another before being put through to someone english that seemed to sympathise with me and put me on to her english manager who finally arranged for a bt engineer to call. I had asked at least 10 talktalk indian staff and managers to arrange this but kept being passed around and told to re start the router. The fault was indeed the connection at the exchange, which was then fixed. As soon as my contract ended I left talktalk and I would never return even if the service was free

Been with them 8 years. They were bad. But they had the best price. So, I've stayed with them. However, I had lots of problems with them pretty much every year. Small issues, easy to solve, however needed to speak to them 10 times over the phone, wasting my time. Eventually I've got fed up. So was my choice to stay 8 years with them but to me this is one of the worse companies in the UK. Mainly because of their customer service and lack of knowledge. I guess for some they are good, for others they are bad.
On TT, they emailed to say my contract was coming to an end and offered me a more expensive one than I could have got online so I went to the "Are you thinking of leaving people" and they would not even match deals online. They also said I had to give 30 days notice before i left or I got a penalty. Is that correct. Do I have to get the handover on the correct day, or is it like gas/electric where you can start changing over in the last month or whatever the deal is?

TT's Consumer MD states existing customers are entitled to same deals as new customers (although consider OP deal is a Comparethemarket deal, not a TT deal, just like referrals via cashback sites are not TT deals). Contact CS again and politely draw their attention to whatever your preferred deal TT is (directly) being offered to new customers and ask to be switched, possibly equally politely but firmly referencing the MDs quote at talktalkgroup.com/art…ing
I think they've had major problems in the past and their support is one thing that must let them down. Not having needed it I wouldn't know.
Their hg633 router is probably another big reason for complaints as it drops Wi-Fi very often and wired internet about once a day.
All their support can do is tell you what they've been told to say...
Reboot, changed SSID for each channel, change wireless channel and move the router from other electronic devices (not easy with such a short modem cable)
Ultimately they know the only answer is to buy a decent router but they can't tell customers that especially if they've paid postage or for the supply of the poor router.
My vr2600 has now been stable for over a month not a single dropout since setting up.

My gf followed the compare the market link comparethemarket.com/bro…nd/ which says it includes free unlimited calls to existing customers but when she signed into her account it said calls were extra! So she started a chat with TalkTalk cust service who agreed to honour the offer...eventually...so if you're feeling brave!!!
