Good reduction but whatever you do, don’t use the self cutting tap valve. The rest of the kit is fine, just needs plumbing in correctly.

Why do you say not to use the self-cutting valve?

I've had one in use for around 15 years and still working. The flow is noticeably reduced compared to our other outdoor taps and I'm sure it's because the self cutting valve cuts quite a small flap in the feed pipe.

Still an easy way to get an outside tape if you don't want to cut the feed to use compression or end feed fittings.

So you get the full pressure. Ideal for pressure washers

I agree. I have one but the pressure washer is about half as powerful through it and the sprinkler doesn't fire as far as if i attach the hose in the kitchen. I will at some point just replace the part of the pipe with the hole bored with a T fitting.
You can always replace a self cutting valve with a normal T-joint in future. Obviously a proper connection is preferable but often especially in modern kitchens the plumbing is a PITA to access and make a clean cut.
Just to warn you that, unless I was doing it wrong, the tap doesn't screw on "straight" to the wall elbow. So I had to screw the tap to the elbow as tight as it would go, then put the elbow against the wall as it would be fitted and get the tap the right way and then mark the three holes and drill on those marks. Then the tap is straight when you fit it again but the holes are not level as you would expect them to be if you see what I mean. If you fit the elbow first the tap will be wonky.

Also the self cutting valve cuts a full disc from the pipe and it eventually ended up in the sink tap meaning the water couldn't be turned off completely. Had to dismantle the tap to remove it. Just be aware of that possibility.
no double check valve on this, its a requirement to have one.

this kit seems better as the self tapping ones are not very good

All outdoor taps are like that. You use lots ptfe tape so the tap gets tight before it's fully screwed in. Then turn the tap until it's straight

That’s a very good point. It’s to stop any dirty water being siphoned back into your clean feed.
As someone else mentioned, these self cutting valves are useless. It'll work for a few years (barely), then get bunged up. I replaced mine with a 15mm compression to 3/4" shut off valve and the original hose just screwed onto it. Water pressure is amazing now, better than it was with the tiny hole the self cutting valve made.

Mine was working fine for over 20 years before I moved house

fair enough, I guess it's hit and miss with these things. They do seem to get a lot of complaints about not lasting long and the small hole they pierce cutting down the water pressure. For £9 I guess it's worth a try and even if the valve does go wrong in future, it's pretty easy to replace with a proper valve.
Might be wrong, but I think the self-cutting tap has a check valve built in (screw on the side). When I tried a similar one it wouldn't cut the pipe, so I used a T appliance tap similar to the other deal - very easy to fit, and after reading of other people's leaks with the self cutting type glad I didn't use it in the end .

I know a guy who used one of these self cutting taps and didn't get any water pressure. It might have been because he clamped it onto a gas pipe, oops.

There is a check valve. It's built in to the self cutting valve part.
