Got these today, nice and sturdy. Very cheap compared to others as these are 2x8m and not a 5m and 8m set.

When have these ever been £25 . Have always been £9.99 for two at screwfix. Good tapes though.
maccalen24/07/2020 12:42

Never understood why someone would require two at the same time?!

To check the length of one tape measure with the other.
These are dog****. I’ve had 3 out of 4 fail.

Why would you ever need two tape measures??

In case you need to measure something 16m

I think we have the measure of you

Thanks, now I can tape measure in stereo.
Same price B&Q

Same price B&Q

Same company.

They're garbage, both of mine from less than a year ago have failed from moderate use with twists in the tape at the hook end, whereas I still regularly use a 10m Stanley tape I bought a couple of decades ago.

Buy cheap, buy twice.
Will I save money buying a 16m one instead ?

You're right, never been £25. I've been buying the same pair for years... bad habit of losing them and being stolen.

Wasn't aware they were owned by the same folk, a bit like carpart4less & Eurocarparts.

I have to agree with some of the negative folk on here. I bought a set of two of these, one 8m and the other one 5m.
The very first time i used the 8m one, it retracted, got caught up at the end and got a permanent kink which makes it very awkward to use.. I didn't think this was possible to be honest, but there it is. Never had this before with any other steel tape rule. The 5m works fine though. The 8m one is now in a drawer as i can't bear to bin it.
I wont vote, just saying how i found them. Thanks to the OP for posting though as some will take advantage of this deal.

Why did you keep buying more then? Could've gone to another brand.

I have 2 tool boxes with different sets of tools in each, but saves messing about switching tape measures so keep one in each. Plus they can get lost or stolen on a job so handy for a backup.
Dont forget Screwfix is trade as well as public so tradesmen go through these quicker & often work in pairs/ teams so bulk buying makes more sense.

Always have one where I'm measuring and one where I'm cutting. Obviously you can try and remember to carry it with you as you move between rooms but there's nothing worse than going out to cut materials and realising you've left your tape inside
I had a pair of these a few years ago and both failed the same way, the tape cracked. Neither had much use and I think they're the only tape measures I've actually managed to break before losing them

Well, you know the old saying... "measure twice... cut once!"
Good price but unfortunately they don't make them as good as they used to.
Stanley used to be known for top quality Tools...but then they cheapened everything. Plastic parts instead of wooden, especially on their hand Planes & Screwdrivers.
But these Tape Measures will be good for the social distancing morons to check their distance lol.

Exactly the same thing pretty-much happened to me. End got caught on something, I gave it a little tug, tape kinked, useless afterwards.

That's weird... I was telling my son Friday about calibrating your tapes, I explained that if your doing precise cuts with one measuring and one cutting, both tapes must read the same measurement!
I tried to be careful with my tools but tapes seem to get lost or broken often. Poundland £1 tape measures all the way!!!
Worst tape measures ever (electrician) absolute dog mess

Get the £1 ones if you lose/break it so what
I have the 5 meter theyre not bad
They are always this price, the original price is complete nonsense , I bought a few of these from amazon when you were on offer for £3 each or £2 for 5m , that was cheap

That's with it comes as a pair...
Few quid more on one Stanley powerlock that's lasted me years and fallen out of a cherry picker a few times.

This technically is like buying twice in one go

Builders and the like buy loads because they all tend to break quite easily.
Never leave the house without my tape measure and a backup.
Not too bad a price, but personally I'd pay a couple quid more, and get a advent visc versa metric only tape measure. I bought one a few weeks ago, and can't believe I didn't get a metric only ages ago.

So you can check that the other is telling the truth.
Look at the trouble youve caused posting these must be laughing all the way to the furnace with the heat youve generated good on yer mate.
These are useless tapes, they keep getting lost. Replaced after 1 year with Milwaukee red versions
