Good price here for the wrench (or is it more appropriate to call this a spanner?) from Amazon, especially if you have prime.

Price comparison based on ScrewFix and DIY

3323520.jpg
Description
The Stanley MaxSteel adjustable wrenches have a narrow head design for limited-space applications, are laser-marked SAE and have a metric jaw scale so that you can easily measure the fastener size. The forged alloy-steel body increases strength and the extra-wide jaw capacity opens wider than standard adjustable wrenches.

This wrench has a bi-material handle for a comfortable grip and its uses include automotive maintenance and repair, plumbing and general assembly tasks. This wrench measures 150 mm (6 inches) in size.

Details
  • Narrow head design for limited space
  • Alloy-steel body increases strength
  • Extra-wide jaw capacity
  • Bi-material handle for a comfortable grip
  • Ideal for plumbing and general assembly tasks

Hope it helps someone.

Definitely a spanner and not a wrench dear fellow.
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

I do detest these Americanisms that filter into the English language.

There are many, but the one I’ve become particularly hateful of lately is “lay” instead of “lie”.

Love Dodgeball
It is a wrench. Stanley sell spanners as well, they haven’t incorrectly named this.

It’s a spanner, because we are British.

Always handy to keep in the trunk of your car. Seriously though these are quite pathetic when put under load; they just spring open a little and round off the nut (shame on you Stanley).

Yep, spanner from the German spannen meaning tighten.

Actually, that old English word is still based on a German word. However, none of that is really that relevant, the fact is, in the UK everyone uses spanner. That’s it really.
Gee whiz where’s the bathroom?

Well there’s a room with a bath and a basin behind you but if you want the toilet just ask.
