Stanley Fatmax - Auto Trigger Clamp (30cm / 12in) £10 @ B&Q

Found 1st May 2009
Bought two of these in my local B&Q around a month ago & they're brilliant. Saw them again today so bought 2 more! (just in case)

They're so easy to use and clamp one handed, whilst holding the item you're clamping etc. They came in SO handy when I was building my fence recently.

These were half the price of some really shoddy ones instore, and I can only find them for £19-28 online so seems like a good deal to me.

They were exactly £10, whereas everything else was .99 etc

Found in Titchfield B&Q (Hampshire) but not sure about Nationwide, so if anyone does check, please let us know on here if they have them in your local B&Q.

"Stanley fatmax auto trigger clamp 30cm/12". The clamping pressure on this fatmax® auto trigger clamps is a massive 200kg and the patent pending spring closure mechanism offers a fast opening and clamping. The clamp quickly covert to a spreading mode without the use of tools and the dual-pivot trigger delivers fast closing and easy application of pressure. The reinforced nylon and steel construction provides strength and durability, the removable jaw pads protect the work piece from damage."

I'll take a look at them if I make it into town today & they stock them in my branch.

I know for £1 it's probably worth a punt for very simple tasks, but I can't imagine for one second that they're anywhere near the quality of the Stanley ones.

Incidentally, did it say what clamping pressure it exerts?

Also, was it a quick clamp like these, where you press one button for it to slide down the runner & close on the object tightly, then you squeeze the handle once or twice & it has that force exerted, or do you have to keep squeezing the handle ten-twenty times (whilst the object you're clamping is slipping all over the place!)

I'm amazed this deal is 2% I've searched and the nearest I can find is £19 (plus delivery I think), so I guess half price just simply isn't good enough on here anymore.
