Handy for rip through cuts and cutting off the odd bit of a board/wood that needs a chip off.
Though the fixed version can usually be found free in with a hacksaw if you need one.

I only ever read the worst reviews. Anything generally with less than 10% negative is a good sign for me. And I have looked at this tool in B & Q and seems quite handy to me.
